So this is my dilema :
I have a brood of just shoot warriors do I give them twin devourers or twin deathspitters?
devourers will likely hit more guys, average of three per warrior, and reroll wounds, but are shorter range
deathspitters cost a bit more, 4 points per warrior, will usually hit less guys unless they're tightly packed, have a significantly higher strength so don't need the reroll to wound and can threaten light vehicles, and are longer ranged so will usually be shooting every turn.
I have three of each built but can't decide on what to do for the next brood. what do you guys think?
The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. Bring them understanding of the power of ourselves through our strength and their fear. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all fragments will be smashed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be consumed
i say go for deathspitters better range better str and area

i like the deathspitters expensive but worth it.

I'd love them, too, except the current rules for blast weapons really suck.
Well you could use both IMO, as they both have advantages and disadvantages.
the devourer will eat up alot of infantry and is still effective on spread out units or larger size bases.
As for the death spitter, it can go after higher toughness, possibly very light armour, but a smart opponent will spread out is units to the maximum 2'', negating the template's effect.
It's up to what you are willing o pay for them, 4 pts a model does make a diference.
i use twin linked devourers, haveing more of an anti-infantry role, the re roleing of wounds makes it a decent weapon vs. most, i find the blast radius to be too small to really matter
with the new blast rules forcing you to center it on a modle, you will rarely get more than 3 hits and three is when your being lucky.
Why not take a mixture, one death spitter (if you really need an anti light tank shot out of desparation) and two devourers

That about sums it up.
As for the warriors, I say go for DS's. For all the reasons listed above, AND that it has some AP value which means more dead ig/eldar
Dreams give us a vision of a world unlike any we have seen. They present us with a glimpse of a better life; a goal to aspire to, and in the face of insurmountable odds, they provide us with the power to overcome, to live on, and to succeed where we would have otherwise failed.
most of my warrior broods are twin linked v.c. on one, and twin linked devourer on the others
i have one "specalized" anti tank unit, with a toxin sac twin linked v.c. (ack, too many points), and toxin sac, twin linked flesh borers
yes the deathspiter has twice the range, but against harder armoured vehicles, i want more shots, to try for more penetration rolls
Devourers. For me, it comes down to the 4 shot per warrior, vs the 1 shot per warrior. Because of the Living Ammo rulle, the lesser strenght is nagated, the 6" shorter range only lasts for a turn, (until you move up). The only real drawback in the lack of AP on the Dev
