For all of you Tau players that have been crying that Tau need their own Titan, you can finally stop as it appears that Fw's newest book, IA volume 3 contains the full rules for a 40K version of the Manta destroyer.
Sofar there aren't any pics to confirm but already there are accounts of over 10 reliable people that have confirmed this to be true.
This contains several stuff about new Tau items and even some insight on the Manta.
It has been confirmed for a while. Check here as well.
A bunch of other good toys are laying in wait.
I just saw the MSN group post about the Manta. They are never going to model that. If it can hold an orca and 140 Firewarriros it is going to be a gargantuan model. I mean, don't get me wrong, I would love to see this model but how many people do you think could scrap together enough money for an Orca let alone a Manta. A titan is huge, but this model will make a Warhound look like a space pup. That being said I just blew a portion of my paycheck on that book and I'm already doing thinking of how to home make that beast.

I've known about the Manta for month it came on Fw site long time ago and it looks nive and have a awfull lots of firepower
Your confusing that with the epic manta while I'm talking about a 40K Manta it isn't shown yet but I think they will show it at GD UK this year, as for the model, FW are never gonna release rules for something they don't have a model and Tony contrell has often mentioned that he's gonna make it no matter what.Originally Posted by Arakiaz

Yea, we've (Manta missile destroyer and the taros campaign)never (Tau Manta Missle Destroyer)heard of it before.
Record as of 26 December for my Static Tau Cadre.
10 wins, 0 losses, and 1 draw.
Last game: Victory over Necron in a 600 point "kill em all" that lasted til turn 10 ending with a phase out.
Since nowone of you knew about it I might have confused it with something else, and no not the epic, since I don't know epic, don't read epic and don't have any knowledge about epicOriginally Posted by Dreachon
I then wanna know what I have confused it with I have no idea but I'm gonna get one them
i was waiting for someone to post a link to my thread that didnt do so well, anyway, the manta rules for 40k dont sound so accurate, i thought ther were supposed to be a lot more ion cannons then THAT, anyway, they prolly wont make a model seeing as how they dont NEED a model, a manta missile destroyer is prolly big enough so that it would cover most of a battlefield, and even if it didnt, its prolly big enough so that all of its weapons would still be in range of watever it was they were shooting at
I've just looked at my PMs and found out where I got the manta from before... cllzzrd19 was taking about it and send my an adress, which btw didn't worked but ask him where he got it from..... it was over 2 month ago he sent it to me
*drools uncontrollably* I want one! I want one!! I want one!!! I WANT ONE!!!
Shas'la: Um, but sir, it's point cost is higher then the total point cost of your entire Tau army.
I don't care! I WANT ONE!!!!
There once was a Lord named Vlad,
Who's fighting skillz really were mad.
He killed and he maimed,
He spilled blood in Khorne's name.
And the fact that he's legal makes me glad
(special thanks to Uriel Zarium for the last line/touching it up)
