hi i have decided to name my force
my paint scheme will be
chitin blood red with chaos black drybrushing
ribing, red gore wash
i figure this will be a kewl looking army.
for me, i went with
a green semi cloggy wash over the white for the flesh,
and a dual color purple/light purple chitin
with general shadeing over everything else
My army is red/black with some green in the small joint parts. The exoskeleton is the black part, and a maroon with red ink washed to give it a "fleshy" look. I have named my army Hive Fleet Cerberus. I've seen alot of people go with the new white/purple look that GW is all about.
Personally, I went with the old "stealer colours. I know, not very original, but, I liked the look and I don't see anyone else doing it. As to your scheme, it has potential. What I would suggest is to try it on one guant and see if you still like it. Welcome to the Hive.
A little pain never hurt anyone - Larry
omg I wonna b part of the hive
what I did on my first guant was this kinda old school look, I went w/ black primer, brown on everything, then bleach bone on everything, then I went over the exoskeleton and the claws w/ red, then I tipped all the pointed edges and the edges w/ black, and in all over the lil joint parts where it loox like veins, I put neon green , so far I am letting it still dry, but if it dries and still loox the same, my entire army will look like that and it will look awsome!
the paint scheme looks amazing
prime black, paint chitin, claws, ribed areas hooves red gore.
dry brush the end of each armor section with white to appear fibered.
3 colors and it looks ready to kill. one thing, the scything talons are red gore, should i paint any other colors on it?
hmm the whole talon is red gore, aff, I woulda gone w/ bleach bone on the talons, and red gore on the tops to make it look bloody thats what I did, and it loox good so far
I can recommend to lightly drybrush black primer with white on skin. It nicely show of all details and looks perfect :-) I have also metalic silver chitin and talons with black wash on it, looks very deadly :-)
it does look amazing since the red gore makes the whole talon look extremely lethal plus i have done progressively more layers towards the tips to give a deeper blood red at the tips
