Anyone else having problems winning games that involved bad deployment decisions?
When the majority of my forces move at 6", and I cant' shoot at all with BS 2, a mistake in deployment has almost always been directly responsible for my loss. Hindsight is 20/20 but damn, it seems like Footsloggers just can't compensate for bad deployment at all. I had the wrong heavy weapons on the wrong side of the field... or I simply ran out of time before I could swing the hammer...
My 1250 army is a bit troop heavy (3 boyz squads, grot screen, 3 kans, 3 buggies), and the only thing that can really move around the board are buggies. But if the buggies don't deliver, I'm up a creek without a paddle.
Anyone have any tips here? I been thinking of adding some ordinance to my army to help.
ZZaps!you dont have to roll to hit just strength 2d6 and 2d6armour penatration.since you auto hit with a strength of atleast 6 you can blast tanks and dreads with ease.I personally recomend ditching the buggies and building a battlewagon(more boys fightin and gunnin for the bastards down).Get a dread and some storm boyz in there too you'll stomp with a movement of 12" on the boyz.Originally Posted by Lodrin

wartrukks and stormboyz! you do not have to make your army a speed freak army to get to the enemy fast, but wartrukks with a red paint job would do you fine to get some troops to the front line while the rest of the boyz slug thier ways on foot there.
stormboyz are also awsome. i have 21 on em, and spilt them into two squads or keep them as one big one (20 of course) and you got boyz that your enemy is going to worry about.
a battlewagon is good as well, i have a custom one and i usually put my HQ in it and it keeps them rather quite safe.
but do not distress! there are many ways to get to the enemy. just be sure to use cover, like warbikes, the dust they kick up will cover many a ork.
but the deployment is what is important. just be sure to put those foot sloggers behind the enviroment. like warbikes, the boyz are behind it and they stay behind them (as best as they can) and things like trukks and stormboyz add those distractions that will save your boyz every time.
