Welcome to Librarium Online!
Ive been into tyranids for some time now, but have never quite found the best way to paint gaunts. Before today, I use to hand paint the under coat of black on them. This not only took forever, but also tore the crap out of my brushes. Today was my first attempt at spary painting, but find it difficult to get an even coat on some of those hard to reach places the gaunts have som many of. Then, I got bored and just undercoated a whole unit of Warriors right on the frame.
So, I Put it to you, Who do you boys/girls/men/women paint your gaunts? And is undercoating on the frame a good Idea?
Thanks for helping out.
EVIL ELF RULES ALL!
I enjoy the painting part, it is a way that I relax. On the other hand, my painting style means that it takes me a long time to complete what I am working on.
Something that caught my attention is dipping. You paint the base colors on the model, temp glue it onto a popsicle stick, then dip the entire thing into a wood stain. The results are actually better than you would think and wow, is that ever a quick way to get it done.
I definitely do not undercoat on the frame.
