Hey I play tau, but I have had it finished for about 6 months now and im looking to start a new army. Im looking ot move away from shooting a little bit and I have been thinking about Dark Eldar or Tyranids. What I would love to know how much money would it cost me to put together a 750-1000pt list for Dark Eldar?. I've heard incubi can be a points sink. I know that witches are insanely good in close combat. Also are ravagers and reavers (from prior threads I get the idea that reavers are) worth while because I really like how the model looks. What else should I include?
Well you will end up spending alot if you go from GW. How ever if you go on Ebay you can get a sweet deal. I got 2.5k points about $1k for only $250 after shipping.
The DE are a tough race to win with but once you have your tatics down you will be unbeatable even aginst the cheese armies.
Beasts of Chaos (4000)
Chaos Marines (3000)
Tau are suckmachines. But that aside, yes Dark Eldar are very very good. However you might experience some difficulty because you do not just stand and shoot *cough* Tau *cough*. You will struggle through almost all of your games but just when you are about to give up you'll find how effective this army can be when used properly. I wish you the best of luck if you are planning on starting DE. GW apparently can't think of any ways to make the models look any better so count on their look staying the same for a long time. Enjoy!

PLAY DARK ELDAR!!!!! I'm not even going to read the thread, but play them. They are the most under-rated army out there. Take four sniper squad some jetbikes a nice Archon and wyches and you can kick total a**!!!!!!!! Use phycological warfare, and make your wyches seem like gods, them suprise the enemy when you use your wyches as sponges and charge them with your lord. With the surviving wyches and the lord, tie up all their ling range weapons, then get in range with you snipr squads and open fire. If they get close, you use splinter cannons or blasters!
