hi everybody. I'm gonna try out a shootily warrior squad.
The primary weapons are either TL Dev or TL Spitter.
And as for the heavy weapon... I don't know witch is better on a warrior the VC or BS?
It seemes that a VC at S7 it isn't very good at busting tanks... But ordanace marker at S4 isn't really that good either... or? what do you think? Gimme some advice here!
go witht the big plate. Since shooty warriors are going to be aiming at infantry more, that big plate will help more than 2 powerful shots
Dreams give us a vision of a world unlike any we have seen. They present us with a glimpse of a better life; a goal to aspire to, and in the face of insurmountable odds, they provide us with the power to overcome, to live on, and to succeed where we would have otherwise failed.
I have a shooting warrior brood, all have a deathspitter and 1 has a barbedstrangler, they are superb against horde armies as the put down a lot of AP5 templates.
My shooty warriors have a VC and 2 DS.
They are meant to deal with lite/medium AV threats (skimmers).
Of course, I also have a Dakka/Devil Fex (2 TL-Devs and ES) to deal with lite/medium AV aswell, as I am very worried about nasty skimmers.
As of Tyranid 5th Ed. codex I have the Gaunts I wanted. I did, however, loose the sniperfexs I relied upon and they were more important then the gaunts.
ok thanks guys... I think I'm gonna go with TL Deathspitters and TL BS. Cause I won't be facing alot of power armored armies...
I think I'm gonna make my brood 4 or 5 models strong... do you think it's too much or is it ok broodsize?
I would go with 4 warriors because if you place them well so he can only shoot with one squad on you then it will be very nasty to kill 8 wounds on a T5 brood. ofcourse you must give them EC otherwise they will get shot to pieces.
and a 4 men squad can easily be hided if necessary and 5 men are a bit to much points.
Don´t mess with the dicegod
Warriors are T4, not T5.... I'd take a brood of 5.
Personally, my shooty ones have a VC and 2 DS and talons. I think that the tl'd dev/tl'd BS would be pretty good, too. The tl'd DS and tl'd BS looks like the best for anti-infantry, though, and would probably work decently against even marines because you would hit and wound a lot of them. On a brood of 5, if the DS hit an average of 2 marines, then there would be 6 marines hit, and 5 wounded with the DS, and then most likely the whole squad of 10 with the BS, so.... that would be about 10 armor saves for T4enemies, to about 12 or so for T3. An average of about 3 marines dead per shooting phase- not tha bad compared to some other shooting.

I've done a lot of calculations and came to the conclusion that the VC is far inferior to all other ranged weapon options when shooting at anything other than MCs or vehicles (and even against those it's far from effective).
I'd recommend twin Devourers, and a twin Strangler for the "heavy weapon guy".
