    Eldar Paint Schemes

I was wondering if anyone has ever tried painting Eldar in anything other then the "official" schemes?

I'm building an Ulthwe CP - and OK black uniforms I can go with, but I wondered about wargear, helmets, vypers etc, using some typical camouflage schemes like olive drab?

    ?

Yes i can guarantee that... you can make up your own colour scheme and still use the Ulthwé rules.

    So what did you try?

I'm think some form of disruptive pattern camo on the vypers:

    I mean:

"look at me - I'm skimming along at zero feet - just to make it interesting I painted the whole thing completely black so you can see it for miles against the natural terrain."

I paint mine like normal Ulthwé, just a little more bleached bone than usual. But my friend paints his blue and purple, and i paint my Dark Angels black and red with gold trims.

Though oddly GW tournaments don't always allow player to use anything other than the "standard" colour scheme for such armies .

A good scheme for vanilla eldar I've seen is purple and white, which work particularly well with each other.

Having an army and not owning a rulebook is like owning a car with no steering wheel.

For my eldar i painted them yellow, bronze and white, and for the Exarchs with black instead of white.

Well I'd not heard of that one.

Legal with the Codex obviously, official figures OK, properly painted yes, but "official" paint schemes?

What about those 1,000 marine chapters we're encouraged to explore, and all those unique Imperial Guard Regiments?

Well my "Ulthwe Windswords" won't be entering any tourney's, so "cammoed up" Vypers here we come
