Welcome to Librarium Online!
I Have a Tyranid Army, and my friend loves to play against them but he always makes me play long ways, and with the deployment sorted out, my genestealers and other units that mvoe six can get to him because he makes me start 48 inches away, this means that with 6" infiltrators and 6" assult +6 turns of movement: 36 inches i can never get into assult with him, niether can my carnifexs, luckily in our last game he forgot that it was 6 turns, but he normally remembers, is this a sort of cheating?(i won cus i deepstriked my tyrant on his terminatorsin a 500 pts battle). also he measures up to the millimeter so that i cant assult etc, and our games are really boring because of it. How can i convince him to just move and stop being silly, so far to get him back i havent told him what IB exactly does(i dont use it to cheat since i dont use gaunts against him i just use genestealers and HT and zoanthropes).
What is a fair table size to play Tyranids verse SM?
Also is it really fair to measure up to the millimeter to try and get me to lose?
That's a pretty unfriendly friend, if you ask me. I play for the fun of it and I can't really say a given victory is that fun after all. Why not play on the 'recommended' table size for the given scenario?
The part about the milimeter precision sounds pretty booring too. I'd tell him that you won't fight him unless he stops being such an 'arse'. It IS supposed to be fun for both sides.
About the size.. We always play with 24" between the deploymen zones.

The person i normally play with does 24" too. gtg finish this later.
I think you should lay down some of the law to this "friend." He is deliberately skewing some of the rules to favor him.
For 1000 point games or less, you really should look into using a 48" by 48" board. Playing 500 points on an 8' by 4' table is usually not so good an idea. I usually play around 1700 points, on an 8' by 4'. And, when you do use a big table, only some missions should require playing longways.
The person I usually play against is definitely my closest friend. Best man at each other's weddings, etc. He plays Tau, so he wants to stay out of H2H with me. However, we both know that skewing the game makes it less fun. We also often play scenarios, so that adds some flavor (and makes us use variation in our armies).
Tyranids: Hive Fleet Kohr-Ah
What you need to do is show up with a shooty army. Get as many venom cannons as you can. 3 biovores, then let his ass have it. If you do the mutations correctly you can drop points where you don't need them and become really shooty inside of 36"

There is a simple solution: Play a mission in which the table size doesn't matter. There are missions the deployment zones aren't determined by the table size, but you can set up almost everywhere except within 18" of an already deployed enemy unit
By the way...how can he force you to play such a game with 48" between you and him? The table is set up by BOTH players, not only by him. He has to achieve an agreement with you about things like table size, he can't dictate it.
Another solution to this problem: Play without any mission objectives, just "kill everything". Use three biovores, hide the rest of your army. Whirlwinds would be annoying though
I've had bad luck with "Kill Everything" missions, as Tyranids need to advance to kill and other armies (like Eldar) can sit back and take pot shots across the board. A simple Cleanse mission is a good idea. Let him set up first and you set up 18" away from his units.
I forgot to mention that he was using my SM i managed to insist on him not having my Wirldwind, but non other than that , in that game it was reaklly unfair he had my devastators, which didnt help(4 rocket launchers) next time i'll insist on playing 24" to 18" apart, he is designing an ork army atm deathspitters with cream him when he does.No matter what we do he is always vunerable to deep strike.
Thanks for responding with support and advice, it is apreciated.
Can anyone recoment a mission for Tyranids verses SM? where its fair.
My gaming table is one half of a Ping-Pong table its about 58x48 I think it plays well and I have smaller themed table tops that I put on top when smaller games are being played and I dont usually use the whole table size so I make it out with chalk
