One of my friends who collects DE is having a lot of trouble defeating this guy with a space marine army.
The battles are about 1500 points each.
The SM guy uses terminators, dreadnaughts, land speeders and 2 tactical squads.
Got any ideas for an anti SM army?(im not DE either but my friend hasnt got internet.)
First thing he'll be needing is the standard issue lord that's in every dark eldar army I've ever played and probably ever will play..
Lord character (it doesn't matter which one that much)
With a squad that isn't a retinue
Start Raider behind type 3 terrain if possible
then move 12"
disembark 2" (Put your lord one side and the unit the otherside breaking coherency and meaning the lord acts now as an Independant character
Watch as he burninates half a tactical sqaud a turn for a good chance of no comeback

There are many threads on this subject already but however, dark lances and disintegrators are your best friend against marines. Use your mobility to surround them and nail them with all the firepower you can get. You can use a talos as a nice distraction to draw fire away from your more valuable wych and raider squads; either way they are screwed if they let anything either the raiders or the talos live. Use a Web way portal to save you early losses and engage your wyches and HQ asap. Should be a breeze at that; Marines aint that tough.
why don't you just take a pistol or ccw instead of the tormentor helm? i don't think agonisers are 2 handed so you can just take a cheaper off-hand weapon (admittedly it only saves you 4 points)Originally Posted by El-Kingo
