I don't play orks but i have been wondering what is the typical point range for a warboss and his retinue for a 2000 point game? Just wondering and thanks
Rheagar fought nobly
Rheagar fought valiantly
Rheagar fought honorably
And Rheagar died.
Thats like trying to nail the sea to the wall my friend, as it depends on the player's playing style and or his willingness to use retuines or trukks ect ect, but I could make a fully decked out warboss and a Economical one, then, the average is somewhere out there.
Most Expensive HQ I made was!!!!!!! 1645 pts, (Its right, 1 Warboss, 10 Nobz, 2 Mekboyz and 2 Mad Doks fully knitted out)
the least would be like 100 pts or something.
So it's somewhere in there ;D
The least expensive warboss you could make (or rather, should make) is 63 points. That's a nekkid warboss armed with a choppa and a slugga. It's a good idea, but I find my 'nilla warbosses floating around somewhere at 109+ (I run mine with a choppa, skorcha/shoota, kustom jobz, 'eavy armour, cybork body [the bit with the fluff for him is that it's more along the lines of a 'lucky' save then anything else], a bionic arm and iron gob [a looted blood raven familiar, wee!], and a bosspole). The price I pay for this? No PK, unfortuantly, unfortuantly.
Of course, my Snakebite/Feral warboss is a different kettle of squig.
Still, it really depends upon your playing style, as was said before.
"Some days you're the Mekboy building the kannon, the rest you're the grot being blown up by it."
- Quote attributed to Sorkrates, before his much mourned death due to ingestion of Hemsquig Juice.
"Dis iz my choppa, and herez me gun. Dat's for killin' and so'z dis one!"
- Bloodaxe Kommando Warchant
I gots me a lurvely 144pt one full of character (if you were in the fluff forum just under a year ago you may remember why). Now compared to other armies, 144 for an HQ with all the fun wargear is cheap! Waagh bana on a Bana Wava, kustom mega blasta (Bad Moon rules) mega armour is great value for money. People say don't waste your warbosses high int on a PK cos its the highest you have in your army. I say, skroo you I like str 10 power attacks thank you very much. I've taken down many wraithlords in my time with those. (If the wlord doesn't inst-kill me first - I'm jammy with 5+ invulnerables)

Too bad your wasting an attack on mega armour.
you still get 5 attacks on that charge and that aint to shabby.
My "dream" 'boss is 137 points.....mm.
Power Klaw, Rokkit Launcha, 'Eavy Armour, Cybork Body, Bionik Bonce, a Bionik Arm, and Big Horns/Iron Gob.
This leads him to be: 3+/5+ inv. save, one S4 I6 attacks, 5 S10 power klaw attacks, raised to 6 on the charge ... 7 attacks on the charge, 1 of them almost always striking before the enemy, the other 5-6 splatting everything.
Not to mention the occasional lucky rokkit.
I love this Warboss, and many people will say he's a bad one, but I really like him.
if your boss is gonna have a PK just throw him in mega armour.
No. Because if you take a choppa then you have the option of striking at I8 if you're obviously gonna be killed before striking with the choppa. Plus you can get an extra S10 attack.
