    Are Warp Spiders worth it?

I see that their weapons don't have an AP value and because of this, are they of any use?

Theyre a very rare component in Eldar armies, and indeed since the release of the current codex some years ago are relatively defunct. They're simply not cost effective for what they can do, and other units do their job far better.

    i'll respectfully disagree.
since i shelled out for my 8 they have never dissappointed me. (except for when i failed 6 out of 8 saves, but that was my fault)
-they will tear through anything with a crappy sv.
-they are pretty good at killing marines. all 8 rapid firing will kill about 3 marines a turn through forcing them to fail saves. (yeah, not good on its own but as they're fast you should be using them to harrass or mop up)
-although their weapons lack AP they are amazing against av10 (dice storm on the glance table!)
also decent against av12 due to sheer amount of firepower.
    -they have marine armour
    -aspect stats
    -jump packs
-special assault move (just remember how annoying it is fighting tau battlesuits)

IMO warp spiders (and scorpions) are the only aspects worth their points at the minute

How will they tear through crappy armor saves? Everyone will get their saves.

they don't tear through crappy armour saves; they
will tear through anything with a crappy sv.
    (i've bolded the important bit)
minor difference in wording, all difference in meaning.

Seth, their weapons' high strength ensures that it will be very easy to wound the enemy, wounding on 2's in many cases. Combine this with the Spiders' high Ballistic Skill and the Rapid Firing Nature of their weapons, and you can easily bury a Space Marine Tactical Squad under a pile of failed armor Saves.

To wit, a Marine will probably pass one armor save, but not three armor saves. All Marines eventually fail their armor saves, the Deathspinner accelerates this time-table.

Not to mention that the enemy will have to catch you, too. Also their amazing speed allows you to capture table quarters or objectives in the last minute. Don't take the Exarch, though..

I am going to heavily disagree here as well. I field them every game because they are now one of the more effective aspect warriors in 4th edition.

Rapid fire with jump packs?? And the ability to move again in the assualt phase??

They get space marine armor saves and they wound most troops on a 2+

    Are you insane????

yes warp spiders are definatly worth the points, people usualy underestimate them because of there ap- weaponry but they are strenght 6, so they wound most things on a 2, this and there 3+ save, warp jump generators make them great units for ambushing and then teleporting away before the enemy can react, they are 100% worth the points

yea, im trying to incorporate some into my mechanised beil-tan list, for the sole fact that thye are great against hordes or almost anything (especially orcs) and i believe an exarch with withdraw make these nasty and extremly hard to kill or even engage.
