Hey Orkies, I remember a while back a thread about how wierdboyz were cool and it would be awesome if you could field them with any Ork army. I just found out that (according to the Ork FAQ on GW's Australian site) you can!
Apparently Wierdboyz and Boarboyz can be taken in non-feral armies out of deference to the more "old-fashioned" warbosses.
This is great. Wierdboyz aren't so cool gamewise but their fluff is awesome and they offer great modelling opportunities. I've always thought it sucked that I couldn't take one. Soon my Bloodaxes will be dragging a demented wierdo with them everywhere they go...
Grukslab: Eh boss, it lookz like dat odd git sees sumptin!
*The wierdboy gestures wildly at an enemy tank but unfortunately his excitement was too great and Grukslab explodes into tiney pieces*
Woot that was my topic. Any chance of a linky my orky friend?
By all means....
here it is. There are also quite a few other useful things in this FAQ, for example confirmation that you add the mek to a burna boyz mob, not upgrade him, so you end up with a mob of 11. It also answers a Q me and citybeatnik had a while back about whether you have to pay the upgrade cost for the shootas on flash gitz with special weapons even though they aren't using shootas. You do.
I don't know why GW has different FAQs for different countries but I'm not complaining!

Are you telling me that you have to pay for a more dakka upgrade on a big shoota even though the gun is already Assualt 3?
Thanks for the link.
yes you have to
Do Weirdboyz still use the same profile that's shown in the 3rd edition rulebook? I'm just wondering in case new rules were in Codex: Armageddon or something.
EDIT: Never mind, just found the PDF on the GW Website.

Maybe I'm blind or something but the Armageddon PDF says nothing on weirdboyz. But do they follow the same 3rd edition rules?
It's a different PDF. The one I found was the Feral Orks army list on the GW UK website, in the 40K Orks section.
Hmm... this shall bear investigating...
