Welcome to Librarium Online!
How do you guys get the rods off the sprue cleanly? When I clip them, it leaves behind a small white mark.. If I have it on the bottom, it looks like the rod has a crack across the middle when seen from above, or when i have it facing out, its really visible.
File tjhe spot. It will still be a little blurry but it won't look like a crack.
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions.
I've never had an issue with it after varnishing the whole mini
Mysterious Member of the ANZAC Clan
I clip mine and then file or scrap off that little white spot. Then, when I mount the rod in whatever gun I'm working on, that scraped spot is the spot I glue down, so you really never see it (unless you inspect the mini with a jewler's monocle)

exacto knife works best on sprues i have found
Ghost's of Terra
Also, make sure to use PVA or model glue for gluing them as super glue eats them pretty good. I have heard mixed reviews about varnishing the model after the rod is assembled. Personally, I followed the advice in the codex and attached the rods after the model was complete and varnished and they look great.
I do not criticize. I do not offend. All I offer is my opinion which means only as much as you make it.
