I was thinking of changing all the green gauss to perhaps red or Yellow and was wondering if anyone else has done this and if so where did you get the coloured rod from?
I changed the color of mine, but I didn't replace the rods with purple transparent rods. I primed them all white then painted on a white/liche combo, then painted lighting lines down the shaft using Liche/purple ink.
You can check eBay for different rods. I bought a bunch of warriors and they came with red, blue, and I think yellow rods. These are long (about 12"-16") translucent colored plastic rods of the same diameter as the green ones. You just cut off the desired length and glue on.
Send me a private message or email if you're interested in them as I decided to keep the green rods.
I do not criticize. I do not offend. All I offer is my opinion which means only as much as you make it.
if you check through the forums here, i think there is another thread which has links to websites who sell acryllic rods of varying lengths and diameters.
You can order different colored plastic rod from plastrux online or through most model train shops. I can't remember the diameter, but it comes in about five colors. I think it's labeled as colored acrylic rod.
