I know its my third post tonight but humour me, http://www.allmoviephoto.com/photo/j...u_ran_001.html
In the movie ran a japanese adaptation of king lear, three seperate armies with distinctive colours battle against one another. In order to get across the visual of each different army in the film, each individual soldier carries the apporopriate coloured flag on his back eg feudal japan and the samurai armies. the same effect can be seen in the last samurai. Seein as the tau philosophy of life fits in with many eastern philosophies and their socitey of working hard to achieve a higher goal I reckon displaying these flags on the backs of my fire warriors would be a good way of tying the two together aswell, as producing a really unique army so bring on the ****tail sticks and hours of pinstaking cutting of tiny bits of cardboard.
knock yourself out.
...Not as cool as Fire Warriors and Kroot in Kilts :p
But still cool.
Half Gods are worshiped with Wine and Flowers. Real Gods are worshiped in Blood.
Blood for the Blood God! Beer for the Bronze Keg!
I've actually seen a samurai-themed Tau army with the banners, and it looked very, very cool. The army I saw also did some other little details -Pathfinders carrying katanas and suchlike.
I haven't got time to dig up the link now, but you could Yahoogle it and see if anything comes up. It might have shown up on Dakka, but I'm not sure.
Anyway, go for it! And if you do, post pics?
