Dreams give us a vision of a world unlike any we have seen. They present us with a glimpse of a better life; a goal to aspire to, and in the face of insurmountable odds, they provide us with the power to overcome, to live on, and to succeed where we would have otherwise failed.
The best tactic for anti-vehicular work we have isn't a Bombardment 'Fex, or a Zoanthrope, or a warp-blasting Hive Tyrant, or a brood of Rending Warriors...
The best tactic the Tyranids have for AV is redundancy. Don't just take one brood of something that can kill vehicles... take two, or three. A 'fex backed by a Zoanthrope brood virtually assures that vehicles will be destroyed. Tyranids hurt for true AV power, it's true... so it's smart to maximize what little we have and make it virtually impossible for all of your firepower to be taken out before the majority of enemy vehicles are dealt with. Even stunning a tank with a VC shot so that rending warriors can tear it apart on the next turn is valid. Take advantage of circumstances, and deployment... and have fun with it. At the very least, what's the loss if your opponent focuses all of his vehicles on your AV units? Nothing, if it keeps those vehicles from shreadding your troops before they can get into face-eating range.
Devilfex: excellent against lightly armoured vehicles like trukks, vipers, landspeeders
Gunfex: better for heavier tanks cause of it's VC
Zoanthropes: the heaviest tanks thanks to their warpblast.
Biovore: with poisonmines against open-topped vehicles
Winged Tyrant with dual TL-devourer: perfect for blasting at side or rear armour.
A lot of other bugs can tackle them in cc as well.
What about 3 broadsides with ap1 shots
Does the monstrous creatures( Tyrants, 'Fexes) get to shoot all their weapons in a turn? I thought I read so somewhere...If they do, do they get to split targets or do all weapons have to be aimed at the same?
I dont know if it's possible for a TMC to have 3 weapons or not, I dont play Tyranids, but I know they can have at least 2. Anyway, monstrous creatures are allowed to fire 2 weapons in the same phase, no more than 2 though. They must still both be aimed at the same target though.Originally Posted by kroxhandler
The only way for a MC to fire 3 weapons is if he has 2 normal weapons and spinebanks, but all fire must still be aimed at the same target.
Ummm freak_boii, this is a Tyranid thread, we don't have Broadsides, (well, actually we do, for breakfast with a side of bacon).Originally Posted by freak_boii
Anyway, back to the thread. Almost every one of my units, (with the exception of the gaunts and variants), is either an MC or has a gajillion rending or high strentgh attacks. I don't care if I need a 6 to hit and a 6 to rend. If I drop 30+ rending attacks on a vehicle, I'm probably gonna hurt it.
