:w00t: I just brought an army! Sweet! I would like some tips if thats okay. Here's a list:
1. How does a Tyranid Army run compared to others?
2. What Units are essential (beyond the core guys)?
2. Any paint scheme suggestions?
1. Use the smaller gaunts to quickly tie up enemy units so that less fire can be directed at yuor slower but heavier critters.
Tyranids are extremely good in cc but with the new codex their shooting has also became much better, so don't hesitate to use it.
2. Creatures with synapse or creatures that are fast
3. Just go with something you like, there are more than enough example of retile/insect/dinosaurs.
Hope this helps.
Thanks Dreachon. I cannot wait to paint my Lictor That is should be obvious from my name. I only have one but I am going to get 2 more, WHY!? because I watched them turn a losing game into a winning game.
lictors turn a game?
3 lictors DSed well = 3 dead bassies or 3 non-shooting Dev squads or ... you get the pictureOriginally Posted by warmaster89like most other armies, the small guys win you the game, whereas the big guys are just pointsinks but are fun to field.1. How does a Tyranid Army run compared to others?Depends on your style of play, tell us what theme you're using and we'll give suggestions or look at the army list section2. What Units are essential (beyond the core guys)?Do what feels right. It's your army, make it what you want it to be. If you like it and it looks good, go for it!3. Any paint scheme suggestions?
Dreams give us a vision of a world unlike any we have seen. They present us with a glimpse of a better life; a goal to aspire to, and in the face of insurmountable odds, they provide us with the power to overcome, to live on, and to succeed where we would have otherwise failed.
I have not seen any winter tyranids, i am thinking ov going with a light color army, with even some armies units with a little fur (cilia).
I love lictors personally. There aren't really any core units in the tyranid army. You can play without gaunts, but then you need rippers or genestealers. You can play without warriors, but then you need tyrants, broodlords, zoanathorpes, or guys that don't need synapse. The tyranids are give and take. I personally would suggest a carnifex and warriors are key to a beginner. You have the coedex right?

Hmm good idea guys, Urban/Winter theme. That would be sweet. Several colors of grey, white fur, yellow eyes... I think that might be my theme. What do you guys think?
If you gonna do that make sure the bases add even more to the look of the models, I haven't seen many winters nids so I'm interested on what your planning for them.
