Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'm thinking about getting a Necron army, with christmas coming and all. Also I've just sold my Dark eldar so I've got plenty of cash. I got your coxed for free, so now I guess I'm kinda comited, that $30 more to spend on troops then.
So do you think I would enjoy playing Necrons? I'd have the army style of lots of warriors and some destroyers of both type for support and then many pariahs moving up for close sombat fun. Also I would most likely use a C'Tan

You'd probably enjoy them, but remember they are a major change from Dark Eldar, By this I mean the fact that 'Crons prefer to shoot than duke it out in cc, they are MUCH slower there initiative is horrid especially when comparred to Dark Eldar. Also, Pariahs are very expensive point wise and do NOT come back, so you probably want field to many of these unless your doing a very large battle. Destroyers are a great choice, they come back, they have great stats and a very nice gun. Not to mention they come in squads (on the table top, you have to buy the models separate).
So, basically it depends on you, ask your self: How do I feel about going from CC to shooty? Do I like the army backround? Do I want to play an army that is pretty much a complete turn around from my last army?
If you like to shoot and survive a long time your set, but if you'd rather rip things to shreds in cc, "Crons probably aren't the Army for you.
Qui est Mortis? Lol, the rep... neggatized for something... lol that nobody payed attention too... Lol Goodbye all, BTW This is permanent goodbye so save some bandwidth mods delete this account :D  :D  :D
well you played DE and now your changing your army necrons can be very fast too with wraiths/scarabs/destroyers/heavy destroyers all being able to turbo boost and veiled immortals are amazing fire base
i would say you'll like necrons they lack alot of low ap weapons and a huge armoury they can be just as tough as marines
you may not want to start with pariahs yet either as they are slow and dont get the WBB rule as they arnt considered necrons and c'tans can be a huge point sink. if you are playing a newer player though they are great scare tatic or game breaker. but vet player will just lead you around the board as thier 6" move.

If it were me, I would suggest you strongly reconsider your army selection. Warriors are always a requirement, but looking at lots of pariahs and c'tan is not the way to go.
It is true what my peers here have said about being able to go fast and get in quick, but it really isn't the necrons strength. the faster necrobns have their uses, but certainly not as main assault troops.
Necrons are a shooty army, they can blast anything into stupidity, and take punishment like their is no tommorrow. The ability of a warrior to glance or wound anything is just plain sick, and massive firepower can be had easily if you just reach out and take it.
I used to play 13th co and Space orks before that, and necrons are nothing like them. The most powerful necron list, IMHO, is a slow moving juggernaught. Lots of warriors, immortals and a few scarabs for speed. It takes a lot of punishment and keeps coming. The standard phalanx with warriors marching forward and immortals supporting is phenominal. Add a lord with a res orb and there ya go.
Anyhoo, my 2 cents
THE BEATINGS SHALL CONTINUE UNTIL MORALE IMPROVES
"A lot" of Pariahs is only 10, as that's the max you can take in any Force Org.
Still, I think you'll enjoy the switch. Necrons are vastly different than DE. If you get your DE into the enemy lines, you pretty much had the game. If your opponent gets into your lines, you've pretty much lost the game with Necrons.
They are ponderous, but are as tough to put down as Marines with the added bonus your enemy will have to do it a few times to keep them down. The Necron speed is used more for distraction plays and flank harrasment than all out assaults. Their CC sufferes from low Init and Attack scores, but a unit of Warriors with a Res Orb near by can tie up even Genestealers in HtH.
The best way is to play though. If you know anyone with a Necron army, ask to borrow it for a game to test them.

one thing crons army gauss weapons are great vs tanks
they are the one thing any armored company commander fears

Going from DE to Necrons is a huge jump. DE are the fast attack kings and necrons are foot slogging. DE are fragile while crons are the toughest, (other than Nurgle marines.) DE have a unstoppable HQ (archon) in combat when tooled up while crons HQ is more of a support role to the masses of warriors.
What will make you want to play crons? Well, there's the gauss weapons, so even the basic trooper can damage even a land raider. Your troops get back up. You have flying las-cannons (in the form of Heavy destroyers) and flying assault cannons (in the form of destroyers). And last they are really easy to paint by drybrushing if you want.
I like the idea of a ton of warriors with a lord with res orb wondering in the middle of them so they get back up. I usually flank with 2 squads of destroyers as well.
I'm not too keen on the Paraiah idea, they are costly, they don't get back up and your phase out will be that much smaller.
