What Does The Necron Pylon Do?
I'm a little fuzzy on the rules, but its basically just a big particle whip with a better range, really tough to destroy, and its completely immobile.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
My 40K Armies:
- Thousand Sons
- Mordian Imperial Guard
- Dark Eldar
My Fantasy Armies:
- Lhamian Vampire Counts
Almost the same as a Monolith, except it's immobile, costs nearly twice as much, and its suped up "particle whip" can shoot from 1-12 feet and is a Titan killer
I used to have the experimental rules on my computer, but have since cleaned them off. Now it looks like the only rules for it are in Imp Arm update 05. If I recall, it had the above abilities, as well as being a super heavy (mass points) and could teleport onto the board, in a similar fashion to the Lith. Those were from the experimental rules though, so I don't know how many of them they kept.
Gyauayuayuayua! Ja! Ve vill crush da little girly men in deir little girl men awrmor! Ve vill see owur enemies driven befowur us, und hear da lahmentaytions of deir wemen. -Arnoldunit Schwarzenecronegger; when questioned about the impending doom he would rain down upon the heads of his doomed enemies.
Think of it as a 3 foot circle or so that any opponent cannot step into without suffering 90% casualties. For around 500 points you basically have the combined firepower of 2-3 monoliths and about 5x the durability
I always thought it was basically a Monlith that couldnt move. I guess there is more to it than that.
Sort of. From what I remember it was immobile and had extended range Gauss Flux Arc Projectors. I don't remember any particle whip abilities though.Originally Posted by Word_Bearer_Apostle
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions.
Think of it as a Monolith on steroids, it's can take a lot more damage and can tackle aircraft and war-engines at huge range.
Does anyone know for sure what it's purpose is? does it teleport? can it engage both air and ground targets effectively? does it have really long range?
All of the above. As for purpose, there's plenty.Originally Posted by NTFH
1) Denial. I can draw a large circle around the pylon and everything takes particle projector hits. These hits are better than the monolith (think marine killer, a very effective one).
2)Firepower/magnet: Particle whip and then some. Perfect for taking out tanks. And it used to be an AA mount so flyers are also toast.
3)It looks cool...
Dreams give us a vision of a world unlike any we have seen. They present us with a glimpse of a better life; a goal to aspire to, and in the face of insurmountable odds, they provide us with the power to overcome, to live on, and to succeed where we would have otherwise failed.
