Hello, There are a few questions that are troubling me about orks and I was wondering whether you could help me.
1) Using mekboys in squads, I was wondering where it says about this in the codex as I can't seem to find it anywhere.
2) Is there anyway I cannot take a warboss? or do I always have to take one.
1) one of the klanz, either bad moons or bloodaxes iirc, (look on the GW wesbite for clan variant army lists- www.games-workshop.co.uk) can take mekboys instead of a nob. Other than that, mekboyz can only be used where stated- in a burna boyz mob, and in the retinues for the boss and big mek, unless theres any others I forgot.
2) Warbosses are essential for a standard codex orks list. Some game variants, like 40k in 40mins dont force you to take one but for standard games it's compulsory. The Kult of Speed list, in the armageddon codex, (orks built around pure speed and vehicles) doesnt have to take a warboss- they can take a big mek instead. Dont think of the warboss as a disadvantage, though; he is an amazing killing machine which you should be happy at being given the chance to take.
Hope it helps.
