Welcome to Librarium Online!
I own to armies now as some of you may have figured. Black Legion and Tyranid. So I decide to play against my 'Nids, even though I'd never used them myself
Anyways, here it is:
Daemon prince w/ stature, spikey bits, D-blade, str, mutation, aura, and f. charge
171 (major point sink let start off to say)
2 10x unit of CSM with H. bolters, 165 each
The army I made for my friend:
Brood Lord w/ Acid Maw 82pts
Retinue /w Extended Carapace 20pts ea 8x total 262
11 hormaguants with toxin sacs 120pts
2 10x unit of Termagaunts 120pts
Sigh... It was a slaughter, obviously I made him a good list and i know how to make a swarm list now. its was a 48in by 48in table. termies on the side, hormas in the middle, and the hq and his retinue in the middel inflitrating alittle past the stop line. I made the mistake of giving this newbie the first turn. Runs forward, fleeting all guys, both hormas and the hq/group are in range for next turn.
My turn, I shot the H bolters killing 2 termagaunts, and one STEALER. Fire all the 9 bolter in one squad at termies killing 4, the other 9 at stealers, rolled 2s and below. GAH. And I was done.
His turn, moves termies closer, fleet really bad, not in range. Charged by both squads named above. 4 regular stealers engage one unit, 12 attacks, and 5 hormagaunts the other, 15. Stealers kill have the group, hormagaunts didn't do a think. my squads killed one stealer and 3 hormas.
My turn the lord gets in to battle, lord hits first dealing one wound, my DP attacks does nothing. his retinue hits at same time, 5 wounds on the DP. BLAM!
Well long story short, the squad against stealer didnt do squat, and died runing off the board, the other squad gets enaged by termies, they do nothing, I finish off the hormas. stealers and the other termie squad engage the remaining sqaud. Game over.
Any comments, suggestions?
HEHE that's why i collect nids. good on em. sounds like you had fun  For suggestions, maybe u should seriously reduc DP in costs or just have a cheap leuitenant or seomthing. with the spare points, have 4 squads of 5 CSM, each unit with HB. also, deploy them in seperate corners of the board, so the nids either have to split their atacks or go after one. either way it's beneficial for you as you take them out piecemeal or they have to run up your deploymeny zone to get to the other units.
Never ever send your HQ into a brood of genestealers, they are deadly, especially since they strike before most other HQ's, I've seen a brood of genestealers take down An'ggrath the Unbound ( giant FW bloodthirster ) just because they strike before him.
Anyway good battle but the chaos lord ddin't stand a chance.........hehehehe.
If I had played Black legion in that match, I'd have poured all my firepower into the genestealers in an attempt to kill the Broodlord, since he's the only synapse creature.
I'd also have sent the lord out hunting termagaunts, to keep him safe from rending claws, but those are the benefits of hindsigt.
Make up a little background story and perhaps a special scenario to go with the two armylists and you could use it as an introduction for new players, just let them play Tyranids to they'll win...
this was more of a experiment, see the weak points on both sides, so I can ready for either army.
[EDIT] sorry if this is in the wrong part of the forum, haven't done a battle report before.

Delete this mods, didn't know about the Battle Report part of the forum. Sorry.
Do you actually mean 11 hormies (which would cost 132) or 10 ?Originally Posted by LictorInTheGrass

As of Tyranid 5th Ed. codex I have the Gaunts I wanted. I did, however, loose the sniperfexs I relied upon and they were more important then the gaunts.
