I'm wanting to try somthing different then what i'm using now. the list I want to use consists of 1 HT w/ tyrant guard. 2 lictors, 2 screamerkiller carnifex. 50 rippers. 21 gargoyles. 3 zoans. 2 biovores. and a heavy support carni. If anyone could offer advise on how to make this list better or any advise on how to use the list i'v created it would be appreciated.
They come, they eat, they leave...
You should add in a few warriors specifically designed to destroy infintry. Your rippers might simply get obliterated by a few ordance weapons:cry: or add wings to them. Your gargoyles could get shot down (unless you deep-strike them:shifty: ). Otherwise, that's a good line-up .
The only thing I could maybe think is to trade some of your rippers for maybe 'stealers, or hormagaunts? It looks good but as hive leader said, you might be susceptible to ordnance (prodided they have ordinance) and maybe a brood of stealers would be a nice vanguard troop to come through and mop up any HQ's or anything that might be left, if the carnifex's haven't sorted them out
by my reckoning that is about a 2000pt army??
Arcanecantrips, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but, that is an illegal list, (if it is a list, not just stuff you have). It has 5 heavy selections, Zoanthropes, Biovores and 3 Carnifi.
Regardless of that, query, do your Zoats have synapse? If they don't, you NEED some more synapse stuff. If the only synapse you have is your tyrant, when it dies, (and it will, they almost always do), your army will fall apart.
Edit - I'm an idiot, I apologise. I assume you are running the screamer killers as elites. If this assumption is true, then disregard the first paragraph, but, not the second. Overall, it is a "different" army. It could work incredibly well, or it could flounder. I'm not sure, I've never seen anything like this in battle. That being said, different is good. Give it a whirl and let us know how it worked.

That and that you can take 3 zoanthropes as one heavy support choice :pOriginally Posted by THE Hersh

You'll need to keep that broad of Biovores in synapse, or they'll run the first time their shot.
I suggest you make your Tyrant ranged, and plan to leave him 11-12" away from (or infront of) your biovores.
Your gargoyrles are your only fast moving unit.
Either deep strike them, or rush them up a flank while hugging cover.
As of Tyranid 5th Ed. codex I have the Gaunts I wanted. I did, however, loose the sniperfexs I relied upon and they were more important then the gaunts.
An synapse in that list is overkill, nothing in actually needs synapse control.
The rippers are mindless, the zoanthropes and gargoyles have high LD, the biovores have a special rule and the lictors are fearless.
I would include some gaunts, hormagaunts, spinegaunts.. whatever and if you do, you'll need some more synapse, upgrading the zoanthropes would be a good start.
Also, the Biovores can Lurk, so you can fire and still not flee. Where did you get all those Rippers? Other than that, a very cool army list.

People: Read the codex!
Biovores do not use the rules for Instinctive behavior, says so very clearly under the rule Brood Telepathy, besides, they'd be pretty useless if they did.
If you look closely at the list (arcanecantrips, not the Army list in the codex), (which I have already pointed out) nothing actually requires Synapse!
The units that do use it (Tyrant Guard, Gargoyles and Zoanthropes) all have LD10, so no biggie, besides, the Tyrant guard will probably accompany the Tyran and the Zoanthropes can become Synapse creatures for a very modest point value (which I higly recommend, to prevent the enemy Instant Death'ing them).
I dont mean to sound rude here, but when people give advice about something they dont know anything about, it makes it hard for the new players to learn anything, which will lead to stupid questions later on, which I'm sure we all want to avoid.
So I say again: Read the codex!

Also all the ripper swarms have leaping, i'm just wondering from all of you is that a good biomorph or is there somthing else better?I don't have enough ripper bases to make this army list com true, If any one has any info on how I can get that many I would appreciate it. I already looked on gw's web site and I couldn't find the bits for them, do they sell them seperately or just in the boxed sets?Originally Posted by Markus von Carstein
