im thinking about starting a tyranid army give me a couple good reasons why i should.
(i already have a tau army)
Okay I'll write a couple good reason for you but firstly Tau suck, I hate there weak tactics of move, shoot, move.
I'm not great at trying to convinve people to do stuff, but I really hope you collect the Tyranids, they cain. Okay now Tyranids, well if you chose to collect them you can enjoy the following.
A Great close combat army that makes use of all the phases of the game ie. movement, shooting and assult. We are quick moving, with very acceptable shooting capabilities and well we all know what happens when we make it to the assullt phase.
I play Tyranid because I enjoy being able to feild a wide variety of units and creatures. Like I will use the Broodlord if I fear using MC's becuase my enemy has alot of know lascannons. Hive Tyrants for close combat armies or when Im also feilding some Carnifexes. Anyway very adaptable army, who can take on any other army. Unlike Tua that can never beat the Necrons or very rarely do.
With the Tyranid you should never lose, the worst result I've ever had was a draw and those are very lucky oponents. Though I'm not saying you should always win.
I have beaten pretty much every army there is, always cain the Imperial Gaurd, Tua, Dark Eldar, Eldar, Orks, Choas (particually Khrone) and well that the ones I absolutly cain.
My final note. Collect Tyranids.
I like nids because of their versatillity. they can be customised to suit any playing preferences, as well as having a MC army to a swarm. Also, in a well balanced army there a no units really matter if they die, because there should be plenty of others that will follow and kill your opponent just as effectively. Finally probably the main reason why i collect them is for the awsome looking models, which are a pleasure to paint. Ok there might be 60 or 80 models to paint, but when time is taken to paint them the overall look of the army is outstanding.
Ehh... I collect nids just because they look so cool. I couldn't care less how powerful the army is (though the number of times I've lost can be counted on one hand, though the times I've played can be counted on 3 hands.... ), but I find it a very fun army to use. I mean, how many armies can have half a dozen MCs and still be able to field over 150 troops for 2000 points? Plus it has the most potential custimization of any army.... Want a huge swarm? You can take 192 spinegaunts for under 1000 points. Like MCs? Take 8 of them. Hate MCs? Take a broodlord with a stealer retinue, the 192 spineguants, 3 zoans, warriors, and ravs. No problem fitting all that in 2000 points, or most of it in 1500. It can be a bit expensive, but the fact that you can design your armies to outshoot nearly anyone or to slaughter just about anything in cc makes it awsome.

'Nids are extremly versitile. You can go for several differnt archtypes. Plus they've got the cool, vast horde of bugs feel to them. Tau are overpowered.
Well if your main army is Tau, then I think Tyranids are a very natural second choice. They play absolutely, totally differently than Tau... so unless you are of the sort who just likes to play out variations on one favorite theme, Tyranids would be a good choice. If I ever pick up a second army I am thinking it will be Tau or Necrons.Originally Posted by chigga_gangsta
