Okay, newest idea. I have noticed that people around here consider speed necessary, but I am starting to wonder exactly how necessary it is. Half the time your opponent has zippy CC units that are coming to you anyway, and even if he doesn't, there has got to be a point where numbers render the increased casualties irrelevant.
I think this list hits that point:
EDIT - LINK REMOVED
It is slow.. ish. Not even that slow really since it has all the gaunts. But how in the world are you going to stop that with any ordinary army? I think I would have a tough time stopping it even if I designed specifically against it. And on top of that, if you look at the point spread it is not cheesy by any normal standard.
Okay sure it is going to get all shot to hell on the way in.. but with those numbers does it matter?
Classic bugs. Take a 3:1 unfavorable kill ratio and still win by a clear margin.
Please don't post or link to stats of models. We do not tolerate breaking GW copywrite rules in any fashion.
I've closed this thread. Please feel free to repost a proper army list in the correct subforum. Thanks.
That is the cheesiest army i have ever laid eye's on.
Basically the need for speed comes from a need for preservation. If you get into combat QUICKLY then they can't kill many of your men. However that list has taken the other side of the coin:make an army resiliant enough that time is on your side.
Hmmm, I'm not sure i'd enjoy using that list. I have no doubt it would be effective, not it seems very mundane. Not my cuppa tea. There's nothing stopping you from making a slow (to nid standards) list, but personally, i'd make somehting a little more enjoyable to play. there seems to be no tactical diversity in it. Well that's my opinion.
Drop a gaunt squad and give all your fex's both adrenal glands upgrades (60pts total), that leaves you with 65pts, which could be spent on... something fast, maybe some leaping/flying ripperswarms or some andrenal glands and stuff for your tyrants.
Thats a very mean and focused list, and I'd hate meeting it in anything but a tournament... you might wanna rename it the Cheese Swarm.
