    Spinefisted Hormagaunts?

Lets face, the new nid codex nerfed hormagaunts. I love gaunt broods though. However it gets quite expensive to buy just gaunts and have all these hormagaunt sprues lying around. Does anyone think its possible to try to use spinefists arms (or any other weapon biomorph for that matter) to replace the hormagaunt arms?

    Sure!
just put the termagants together the usual way, and glue the spinefists on the hormagaunts.
That way you end up with spinegaunts in a running pose.
(They run forward just like a meatshield is supposed to do)

I do it myself, otherwise I would have way to many hormagaunts for my swarm.
People don't have a problem with this as they clearly look like spinegaunts.

WYSIWYG rules state that the model must look as close to the costed statline as possible. As long as you use:

    1. Gaunt models
    2. Remove unnecessary biomorphs
    3. Add purchased biomorphs

I wouldn't see any reason why you would have a problem using them. Honestly, I would rather play against your modified models than models from 2nd edition. I believe older models are still valid even though they look nothing like the current ones.
I do not criticize. I do not offend. All I offer is my opinion which means only as much as you make it.

i dont see why anyone should have a problem with is like LordCreampuff said same model and all part that are not needed are removed and the proper parts used. its not like your trying to pass of spinefists as rending claws or scyting talons off as crushing claws

I have to say Hormagaunt bodies as gaunts with spinefists of flesh borers would look pretty sweet! the bodies are the same with the only difference being they are somwhat standing up. Post pics when youre done!
