As many of us all know the new Tau codex is on the way, to come out early next year by the looks of things. I've heard they are getting a few new things, new tank, hero, better kroot and some other bull****. Also same goes for the Eldar from what I hear, though these are loose rumours. I was just wondering do you think it unfair that the other codex's are getting many more units as I know some of them are.

well i play tau and nids and i cant wait for the new units but i dont think that it will make tau to powerfull becasue of all the biomorphs that the nids have they can be tailored to play against anyting. so if we go up aginst tau use hoirds of leaping/ flying things so we can just rip them apart in CC and deny thier shooting
It's pretty fair I think.
TheTyranids already had a few versions before the current one, in which they got some new things, they are varied enough I think.
Tau need some new stuff. They have only 2 usefull Heavy Supports, 1 usefull Fast Attack.
The nids got a new thing too. (broodlord)
And for other stuff like the Black Templars: All the new stuff are acually the special characters. (sword brethren are just another name for veterans)
The Tau aren't getting that much new things right? All that is sort of "confirmed" are the vespid and the new variant tank with those missile wings.(which was a FW-thing before they got redone in plastic)
The sniper guys are just weapons they already had on troops they already had. Only a new combo.
For the rest it's just some new models for the same rules.
(That's as far as I know, might be completely wrong about it though)

I don't really fear the new Tau, they get some new stuff ( which they really needed ) but they don't get way stronger now, also the most of their stuff is more geared for dealing with MEQ armies.
Eldar and Orks are getting screwed harder than anyone else. Tau should have to wait until after these two armies have gotten their new dexes.
yes yes yes
we know how all the other armies are getting screwed by this codex coming out first or that army book being doing done before whatever,
and if the eldar codex came out first
then the tau players would be screaming (myself included)
if the ork codex came out fist
the eldar players would be screaming
if the puprle polka dots in frilly dresses furbie codex came out first
then the pink polka dot non frilly dresses furbie players would be screaming
get over it
There's a Furbie codex? Interesting, are they MEQs? Anyway, back to the topic at hand. When the Second 'Nid codex came out, the Tyranid army more than doubled in size. When the third Tyranid codex came out, the total number of units didn't change, but, they scrapped the Genestealer Cult army and replaced it with a bunch of new units. The fourth came out and there are few new units. Well, we did get a MAJOR refit with new biomorphs and new combos. You have to expect the Tau, (and the Necrons), are going to go through a whole bunch of mods before they settle down. Look at the Orks and SMurfs. They haven't really changed that much in a couple of editions, (yeah, they get the odd new toy, but, not many).

sorry took back my post.

methinks the orks need a new codex more than anyone. but im biased. i personally dont think the nids' and SMurfs need anymore codexes now. they have great systems for making their own customised units and chapters. aint that enough? also for anyone who says that the eldar need it more, they got the craftworld eldar book. the orks havent gotten anything new since their codexes release, aside from articles, but they dont count.
