Welcome to Librarium Online!
I have never played at my local shop, but I am considering to go there soon. My only problem is that they use 6x4 tables, with absolutely no terrain that blocks LoS. Now I wonder, how is DE supposed to deal with that? It effectively means that I have to let the enemy fire everything he got into my raiders for two turns before Im close enough to unload, and, the gods forbid, I dont get turn 1 heĀ“ll even be able to fire at my raiders WITHOUT the fast skimmer-rule O_o Do you goys have any suggestions as to what can be done? I was thinking about deep striking some scourges with a WWP right down the middle of the enemy, any thoughts?
spread out the points would be the most important thing.
so dont take an archon, take a dracon.
dont take wyches, take warriors with a sybarite and so on.
in short give him lots and lots of targets but dont give him any obvious target.

Use a webway list.
However, why is there no LOS blocking terrain? As per the rulebook, there should be 6 square feet of terrain on such a table, and there is little reason not to distribute this to the three size categories evenly - 2 square foot of level 3 terrain.
Keep in mind, both players have to be fine with the terrain, don't let your opponent dictate it.
Sareld mate, surely on a 6 by 4 table you use the long table edges for deployment, assuming up to 18 inches, that leaves him at the most 30 inces away and possibly as close as 12 (or more reasonably 1, dont see what the problem is partcularly, raiders will eat that gap in no time.
Wraithgate is probably a no cos of the lack of cover for the gate carrier, but I agree with danceman, present a lot of targets with no clear prefered target
Everything you have been told is a lie!
Most missions will have you deploy on the long table edge in a 15" deployment zone. If he lines everything up on his board edge, ok you'd be 30" away but chances are you'll be able to lay something down 18" from at least one of his units.
If you don't go first you will have to survive 1 round of shooting before this happens:
Raider moves 12", disembark 2", assault 6-12" depending on unit/drugs plus your Archon moves 6", fof 1-6" charge 12".
Obviously if you only have 2 raiders and they contain wytches and HQ's then you're going to feel the pain. So like everyone said, take many units of relatively equal threat. Or simply ask for a different selection of terrain (maybe bring some of your own pieces, ones that block los).
Alternately you could field ye old shadow army (30 mandrakes, screaming jet raiders, etc) so that no actual targets appear until reserves show up (or the mandrakes reveal on turn 3).
