Lookin for opinions about my melee warriors.
Didn't want to make them winged, to try and keep the cost down a little, plus I wanted the protection of the Extended Carapace..
My idea with these warriors is to get them in fast with the hormagaunts, and get early (high initiative) attacks to limit the number of enemies striking back against my gaunts. Anyways here they are:
Warrior (41 pts/model)
-Adrenal Glands (I)
I was also considering Flesh Hooks and Toxin Sacs, but decided on Bio-Plasma, since it'll work out a little bit like both. Anyways, let me know what you think of this build.
Looks pretty solid, I would replace Bio-plasma for Flesh Hooks though. Your going to be on the assault, and a smart enemy will use that.Originally Posted by chubber911

i use mine as you have your planed but with flesh hooks instead of bio-plasma and they always seem to get thier points back. they are really effective for 40 some odd points.
When I get the money (sigh), my CC warriors will be pretty much like yours, although I'll switch Bio-plasma for Adrenal Glands (WS).
Are Flesh Hooks really that essential?
Only if there's a lot of scenery on the table.
they are nice to have when my brother places his marienes on some terrain or if you play using the city fight coes they can be ferry usefull
The way you use them is the way I use them but I use the toxin sacs instead because at (I)5 their going to attack first on a good amount of enemies. Its up to you.
Ahhhhhhhh, what the hell is that?
Ummmmmmm, Sir I believe it's a Hive Tyrant.
This is exactly what I use. I must warn you that bioplasma is a mixed blessing. I charged 4 warriors into a chaos marine HQ, after making sure that there was exactly one space free amonst the gaunts. I got a rending result on the bioplasma hit. So he removed the ONLY marine in base contact denying me the rest of my normal attacks. Don't bother with flesh hooks, gaunts will usually make it into combat first. Also your bioplasma strikes on init 10 the same as models in cover. Toxin sacs only make a small difference. The +WS upgrade is probably more usefull. 41 points is pricey for a model that can vanish to a round of heavy bolter fire.Originally Posted by chubber911
Rending doesnt apply to bio-plasma. I called the GW 1-800 number to ask.Originally Posted by Zerling
On the flesh hooks note: Like it was already said- my hormagaunts will most likely be getting into combat before the warriors, rendering the flesh hooks a moot upgrade.
And what are you saying the WS upgrade is more useful than? The init upgrade?
