Necrons have a very Egytian feel to them. So if you get blocks of polystyrene and cut them into shapes like pryamids you can't go far wrong.

Things that are typical to other races scenery such as power cables running between buildings don't feel right for necrons IMO

    Hope this helps.

I always thought that a necron tomb world would have a few remnants of it's previous inhabitants (some opportunity for fluff boasting here- have an IG HQ or something, half razed), but that having been taken over by the necrons stuff.

Slightly pyramidish boxes would work, or anything vaguely pyramid-shaped.

Hirst arts does a nice line in sci-fi necronish stuff. Just google that and you should find the site- it's awesome.
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!

These should give you some inspiration; also, just look at random pictures in the codex/online/etc. to see if you can find anything that will inspire you. ^_^

A mod has to do it; there's no reason to close it, though. Other people may come in and help you.

Also, the mods generally frown upon using "net speak".. i.e. saying u instead of you, no instead of know, etc. Try to take the time and type things out. ^_^ People will be more inclined to listen to you.

just another thought for you think desolate. as in wiped of life. just an idea for a board: take a stone flec paint and cover the board with it. then add a few big rocks and maybe a dead bush or two. remember necrons are on dead worlds. so think desolation.
"One after one, by the star-dogged moon,
Too quick for groan or sigh,
Each turned his face with a ghastly pang,
And cursed me with his eye.

    Four times fifty living men,
(And I heard nor sigh nor groan)
With heavy thump, a lifeless lump,
They dropped down one by one"
