can anyone help devise a 750pts army for battling against 'nids.
nids guy using 2 Carnifex, 6 ripper swarms, Winged Hive Tyrant, Brood Lord+retinue. (not 100% sure on wargear.
fight fire with fire, fight cheese with cheese, fight 3 TMC's and a broodlord and retinue with a God.
Simply put, his army is very cheesy, normal lord and warrior set up would need to constantly veil out the way, to stand a chance. Take NightBringer and two squads of warriors, if he tries to out manouver you, put the cron squads in two lines, 1 behind the other and counter charge with ol' nighty, that way you won't phase out. Or if your opponent is stupid he will attack nightbringer head one, either way you should stand a nice chance of winning, and if he attacks you, i'd be amazed if you didn't win.
-i agree, c'tan's are the only effective counter to TMC'c
-you also need the abilty to teleport your warriors out of CC, i suggest a VOD/ lith
Procrastination- hard work often pays off over time, but laziness always pays off now.
Indifference- it takes 43 muscles to frown, and 17 to smile, but none to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.
-Votewar 40K III= 1st place
-Votewar 40k mini= 2nd place
-Votewar fantasy 2= 2nd place
tyranids definetly get an advantage over us necrons in low point games so another suggestion may be to try and increase the amount of points because i play with a tyranid player a lot and i always find myself having more difficult games the lower they go.
Definitely bring a monolith. His nids can't hurt it and the gauss flux arc and power matrix will pound the nids into the ground. Plus, the ability o tank shock and use the lith as a charging barrier will really frustrate him.
Bring a lord with the VoD and the minimum number of warriors. Use VoD to keep one unit on the other side of the board while using two monoliths to fight the nids. If they get too close to your warriors jump them to the ther side of the board to prevent pase-out. He'll never take out two monoliths.
I do not criticize. I do not offend. All I offer is my opinion which means only as much as you make it.
Not much you can do at that point cost. Try bringing Destroyers and shoot them from afar, maybe you get lucky and they flop some saves.
Tool up your lord, wit ha D-body and Phase Shifter he may be able to last a turn or two.
Use a couple of swarms to slow them down.
Good luck, but try playing at 1250 min.
One wraith can do a LOT of damage at 750 points (giving the fact that it is really hard to kill and moves like a jet bike). More than one wraith can really drain points so I suggest just one.
Destroyers are a must as they are lethal in small games, pricey, but lethal. Also a Lord with a warscythe can really dish it out especially as it ignores ALL saves (survive that Mr. Hive Tyrant!) and for the cost of it, it is inexpensive IMO.
having 2 wraiths would be much better for a battle because they would atleast get a chance for a wwb roll
True, but I feel the points could be better spent on warriors, thus bringing down phase out.
If either of the 'fexes have venom cannons or a similar painful shooty weapon, the 'lith may not be a good idea. If they are grannifexes (CC), then the 'lith is perfect. Definitely tell him to stop being a girl and pad out the army to at least 1500, if not 2000- necron suck against most things, especially tyranids, in small games.
