Welcome to Librarium Online!
-my tau friend has been constantly pestering me about what i've heard about the new dex, so i've amased quite a bit of info for him. i thought it might be nice to show tau players all of the changes in one place.
-new ethereal models, incuding ethereal on floating throne, and his honor guard
-new female special character, called shadowsun, armed with 2 fusion blaster like guns, and mounted in a steath suit variant.
-new steath models, and 1 in 3 can get a fusion blaster
-2 new guns for crisis, one is 18" S3 AP? assault 5 rending, and possibly only for commanders
-all suits can now buy targeting arrays for +1 BS
-hammerheads can get a nose-mounted burst cannon
-sky-rails are in new codex, have rack of 10 seeker missiles
-kroot hounds and krootox no longer take up aditional fast attack/ heavy support choices
-drones take the same toughness and armor save as the unit they are attached to
-broadsides can buy slow and purposefull
-tetra's/ piranahs might be released in plastic and in new codex
-new heavy support choice= drone sniper team, 3 drones with rail-rifles and a drone-controller guy who marker-lights stuff for them. 0-1, but can buy 3 per heavy support choice.
-new fast attack choice= vespids, have flying movement, and short ranged assault guns that are supposed to be "marine killers" last i heard was 18" S5 AP3 assault 1.
-this is all based on what i have gathered from various threads in LO, and other forums. if you have corrections/ other info just say so...
Procrastination- hard work often pays off over time, but laziness always pays off now.
Indifference- it takes 43 muscles to frown, and 17 to smile, but none to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.
-Votewar 40K III= 1st place
-Votewar 40k mini= 2nd place
-Votewar fantasy 2= 2nd place
What exactly does slow and purposeful do for broadsides?
Move as if in terrain, rolling 2D6 and picking the highest, even when they are actually in terrain. Their movement does not count as moving, allowing them to fire heavy weapons. It will be a hardpoint option, thus they're able to buy it, but then must rely on hardwiring for other systems.
According to Forgeworld rules, yes... it carries 6 and can take 4 extra. But according to the new rule changes, takns can only take 2 seekers as an upgrade. Therefore I think it will carry 10 as a maximum and may not get more missiles.
Remember remember the fifth of November... Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason... Should ever be forgot...- = Always watching = -
drones with rail rifles? Sounds like crazy talk. I DID hear about teams of FW with Rail rifles as a HS choice, which sounds less crazy (although I'm not sure I'd be willing to give up the HS slot). I also heard about drone teams with a drone controller guy, but I thought that was seperate from any rail rifle deal.
Only able to get two seekers on a vehicle? Why? Maybe to give the newbs less rope to hang themsleves with, or they redeisgned the missles so they actually fit now, and that's just what fits.
A little birdy told me GW might be considering a trait system for Tau, a la new SM codex.
Probably not though.
