Welcome to Librarium Online!
ok i have a question what is the purpose of guardian bikes?
I cant see it.
they cost as much as sMurf Bikes but have absolutely terrible stats and have no good weaponry to mount.
I guess you could somewhat make them more effective with a warlock w/ enhance but even then who is going to spend a grip on pts on this unit?
The only pro's I can see is that they can ignore terrain and then move the 6" back in the assault phase but this isnt all that great because the weaponry is so short ranged. If you really wanted shuriken cannons you could take a vyper with CTM and 2 shuriken cannons and get the job done that way.
But then again... I'm not a fan of any kinds of bikes anyways. Just trying to see if they have ANY purpose.

I don't use them personally... Infact I hate any vehicle what so ever unless it can shoot behind terrain. But in objective games a Saim Han army would be so giggles.
The problems occur if you have to hold objectives, Same Hand dont do static very well and assaulting tends to bew reserved for the latter half of the game,Originally Posted by karlious

Everything you have been told is a lie!
I use a Jetbike squad sometimes, this is how it is composed:
3 Jetbikes; 1 with Shuriken Cannon, 2 with TL Shuriken Catapults
1 Jetbike Warlock; Singing Spear, Destructor
= 194 pts
I use this squad as a fast, all-round reactionary unit that can take out light-medium vehicles and incinerate squads of models with 4+ or worse saves. Generally effective in large games, but only then. And they're pretty worthless against Space Marines as well, but they are fine against Tau and IG to mention some. Their greatest downside is their horrendous points cost, you could as well get a Falcon (unless you play Ulthwé Strike Force...)
Warhammer Fantasy: Warriors of Chaos, High Elves
Warhammer 40k: Eldar, Space Marines, Orks
Weird. . . I just realised that a Warlock on a Jetbike in the Farseer's retinue costs only one point more than a Guardian Jetbike. *boggles*
Why do the survivors remain anonymous -- as if cursed -- while the dead are revered? Why do we cling to what we lose while we ignore what we still hold?
Name none of the fallen, for they stood in our place, and stand there still in each moment of our lives.

lol ... that's horrible. The only upside to guardian jetbikes is you can mount a shuriken cannon of course there goes more points :rolleyes:Originally Posted by Ostsol
Don't forget when you boost your save turns to invulnerable, not to shabby
The save may be not too shabby but once they've saved them what damage are they gonna do? Shurican catapaults and a warlock, come on. Seriously, that 195pts squad Viktor mentioned would be the only configuration I'd ever take in my Strike Force but I can get almost two vipers with brightlances and Shurican Cannons for that price. I'm waiting for a change in the next codex, until then Guardian Jetbikes to me will stay in fluff only. But if you like them that much, you have my blessings.

You mean you take objectives before the last turn? Why? I only ever begin to think about objectives (Cleanse, Take & Hold, Recon, Secure & Control) in the penultimate turn.Originally Posted by Cheredanine
