Okay, I am in a dilemma whether to start up a feral ork with loads of mad boyz with shootaz and hunters, and a squiggoth (love the idea of fielding one of these). But then I'd be missing out on dreadz, kanz, battlewagons, and so many crazy ork stuff, but I wouldn't have a squiggoth then lol:wacko:. Please help me...
Feral orks: similar to warhammer fantasy orcs, easy to assemble, however lots and lots of mobs of boys. Squiggoth gives you tremendous converting and stomping potential. you also have junka trukks which are cheaper, but may break down. This list can be an even more CC ork arm (if that's possible) and some of their boyz are actually BS3 according to chapter approved. If your thinking shoota boys this list is probably where you want to be. Course there is no fun of kans, buggies, looted vehicles, or battlewagons. basically your gonna run up there the good old fashion way and beat the snot out of your
opponent. however, there could be the options to actually shoot and hit 1/2 of the time which could throw your opponent off tremendously.
tremendous versatility and options. you can go buggies and be faster than dark eldar at times, you can go kans and get almost all your boys into combat intact by walking behind the wall of kans, or you can go speed freaks and ride with buggies and do it all. shooting is worse than feral orks, they don't have the option of squiggoths, but they get looted vehicles/battlewagons that have more guns but lack staying power.
either way your painting lots of boys. if your looking to throw around some metal stuff and drive over your opponent your looking at regular orks, if your looking to do a little shooting with regular weapons and also get in there and pound em your looking feral. feral will mean your not getting zzap guns, kans, dreads, storm boyz... but your getting a little more versatility in the variety of regular ork boyz and their usages. you get the squiggoth which has the staying power of a C'tan, and the fact that it cannot be instant killed by anything. however you won't have reliable transports as junka trukks will break down
40K-Beakies(9-14-4),Guard(4-7-2),Orks(34-12-11). FANTASY-Dwarves(15-6-7),Beasts (14-14-1), Skaven (17-17-10) DoC (6-1-2). CYGNAR (28-15-1)
Ferals have the powr to be great at shooting and hand to hand. Just mix the madbyz up with squads of slugga/choppa and squads of shootas. Their BS is the best for Orks. Add a unit of Huntas and some BoarBoyz. Use rokkits on all your pigdocs leading your boys and rokkits on your Squiggoths - you will have plenty of firepower. Add some grots andf you are done.
Now I actually have a few more units
I take for fun - squig herd and weirboy with brutes. I also want to eventually add a few Lobbas as well.
im still torn between the two. A good equalibirium is snakebites. They are required to have two mobs of huntas so thats BS3 there. Then u can get madboyz, slugga boyz, Kans, Trukks, and a looted tank if u felt like it. U can even get a feral Ork warboss if u mount your warboss on a super cybor. I find them fun, but my madboyz havent been doing well in CC against Black Templar Beakies
