Hi guys it's been a while since the last time I post.
Been playing with DE, hard to play for sure but real fun. However, I need help against one particular army: the Biel Tan and its howling banshees.
So far I have:
everything from the DE box set.
1 more box of Warriors
1 more Raider squad
His Biel Tan army has:
Falcon grav tanks...2 of them
Howling banshees with banshee mask and power wpns (very fearsome bunch)
Dark reapers (very fearsome bunch...and annoying too)
Any tips are welcomed. We usually play 1000-1500 pts. He beats me in like 8 outta 10.
PS: heard they are going to eliminate DE completely on next edition. Is that true??!!
I would go after his banshees with wyches. Do you have a succubus for the wyches? if you dont i would get one and give her agoniser and sp. i dont play against Biel Tan very often(once) and his army didnt have ***** in common with what you listed.
PS No they are not getting rid of DE but they arnt going to be in the starter box anymore.
Against Banshees Wyches, as already said, are the best, since their invul save in CC cancels out the Banchees power weapons and 2 handweapons ... this takes away quite a bit from their punsh. And a succubus with a power weapon is better then one with agonizer ... against Eldar you will wound troups already an 4+, and you could happen to get the +1 strength result, which would be wasted with an agonizer.
Then why not a punisher+tormentor helm (unless your opponents insist on wysiwyg)? Then you have S4 by default, and with S+1 drugs you'd have a S5 succubus...
An agonizer is very useful against avatar and wraithlords though.
That would be of course even better ... by the way, a Dark Eldar Lord with Drugs, Punisher und Animus Vita can each Strength 6 after his first kill, when he chooses the +1S result from his drugs ... that wounds most troups at 2+ and against armour 10 + 11 its better then the agonizer ... so when you donĀ“t fight against Tyranids or live in fear of the mighty Whraithlord, than you could consider this.
Unfortunately it's not that easy...killing an enemy isn't sufficient, you have to capture him. In order to do this you have to make the enemy unit fall back, and that doesn't happen that often with all the fearless models out thereOriginally posted by Akumakaji@Nov 26 2003, 22:53

Ah yes, thanks to point that out ... I havenĀ“t tryed this tactic yet, so its good that I donĀ“t get it wrong when I try it.
Hello I am sorta new with dark eldar and I was just wondering once you make your enemy fall back, how do you actually capture them for the animus vitae to take effect?
ok try this
incubi vs scorpions
wyches vs banshees
warriors vs gaurdians
talos vs any thing exept skimmers
try ravenger and raiders vs prizem and falcons
and any dark lances
and u cancapture any units killed on a 4 plus isent it?
spambot kill tally: 79
