    Is it wise to make all my tyranids to be assault tyranids? Does it work? Does anybody have such army?
    My army is the Tyranid battleforce and Hive tyrant.

    its always worth it, take catalyst and warp blast, on the tyrant, and not rending claws.

    hell yeah do assult armies work! I play on tuesday nights at the local store club,1500pts. I've got three guns in my army (not inc. warp blast) and I've only ever lost twice! Assult is what 'nids are geared for! Make sure you get at least two lictors and you'll be laughing

    If you don't have any ranged weapons then you'll have serious problems against skimmers though. Most of them are faster than you, and even if you catch one you need sixes to hit and good armour penetration rolls.

    Yeah, and worse is that blasted Monolith being classed as a skimmer. Sixes to hit in CC, and an armour value of 14. And apparently a rule about not getting bonus armour penetration die. And I think it can deepstrike.

    Sorry, I'm digressing into my own personal anti-Monolith world of hate

    Try a 'Fex with bio plasma - 4+ to hit against anything (including skimmers) but does mot have the 2d6 for armour pen. but against a Monolith it isn't needed. (I always give my tyrant and fex it just to help hit any skimmers and the extra attack)

    The point cost for bio plasma on a Carni is insane, and you get one extra attack, 50% chance of hitting at 4 initiave - no thanks.

    Nothing like an assault range of 12" for attacking speeders. Use leaping rippers or gaunts with mutated rending claws.


    Tyranids ARE an assault army. The faster you move the more you consume. Consider deepstriking your HT and Red Terror as well.

    If you sit still and fire then you will die. Warp Blast is the best weapon we have and it can be fired on the run...so run

    isnt this a glitch in the ules m cus once when iw as playing small 500 pts battles i ended up with bloke with axe of khonrn and plasma pisol and a jugganaugh against a master of the ravenwing model, we decided to call it a day when we had gone for 5 more extra turns without any body dieing. really this is one of them victory pts times, is that anyway to claim on something when u cant win, or is it your fault for haveing a poor army that cant deal with everything.
