As I have become a better painter I decided to repaint my dark eldar. I'm looking for a color scheme that can make my army look cool (my current one is too plain) but I can't seem to come up with one. My favorite colors are blue and black so a color sceme I want would be black but with some blue and green. I got the black from looking at the stary sky and I thought how cool the black sky looked filled with all the stars but I can't seem to apply that look on my dark eldar models without it looking plain. mixing it with blue might be cool but I have my doubts if I can make my black dark eldar capture that night feel. Theirs midnight blue but the color looks plain (mixing it might help) but then theirs blue ink and I really like but I don't know how to apply it. I want to keep the shiny black armour of my dark eldar but mixing a night time look into it but thats where I get lost.
The basic look I have right now is gloss/black armour with a white spiral on the forearms, upper-legs, and a mini one on the corner of the eye holes on the helmet, spikes silver with parts gold like the photo of the black heart. I need to build from here.
Any help would be really helpful!!

Heres a colour scheme.
Chaos black and camo green for most of them.
and use fortress grey and hawk turquiose to highlight
note that those colours are mixed
have you tried to paint them like the chaos army night lords with lighten bolts and thunder clouds on there armor???
Night lords. Let me think that gives me an idea. How about I replace the spirals with thunder strikes on the armour and green eyes. Yah I'll add that. I better go look up some night lords for more ideas.
So it's black armour with green eyes and thunder streaks on the armour instead of spirals, silver spikes, with some gold, maybe add some chains arounf the waist with green-stuff. And how about instead of clouds I put mist? Yes mist thats what they need thunder and mist! But do any of you know how to paint mist? Or a trick that can make me draw really believable thunder! (I don't want to end up with crappy lines instead of thunder!). What about the rifle it has to look equally "nighty".
I can see a color scheme coming up that thunder/mist idea really gives them that "night" look. Any more suggestions? Please! Untill them I'll be looking at the night lords colour scheme for more ideas.
