I find that extremely unlikely to be true. Firstly, there are many his models that have been sold, whicih is a good financial incentive for GW. Secondly, while I don't know how much he is actually used due to his special army restrictions, but the fluff surrounding him is very popular. Also, they had long-term plans for that fluff.

Now, changes to his rules wouldn't suprise me.

At the very least, I guarantee you, should he not be iincluded in the codex (cuz there's an unofficial rule of two character per codex, and we know they have the Halo/drone guy) he would be posted on the 'net for use within the same month. (They've done that before).

I would actually find it far more likely for them to drop Aun'shi, and then giving Ethereals upgrade options that allowed them to spproxiamte Aun'shi. (as Aun'shi has become the default Ethereal for most people that use them at all)

Then you turn to armies such as: eldar, dark eldar, space marines, imperial gaurd, and chaos marines; none of which have fewer than three special characters per book...

It's already been confirmed that not only will O'Shova be in the new codex, he gets:
-More information about his history and motives. The Khorne rumours have been debunked, although I don't think the Dawn Blade is still fully explained.
-He will also be able to take a 7-man Crisis Battlesuit bodyguard.
-Ork Fighters is also now cheaper for Fire Warriors, although I don't know how much.

O'Shova is very alive and well in the new codex. The new codex will have:
Aun'va: Master of the Undying Spirit (Popemobile-guy)
Commander Shadowsun (Female commander in custom XV-25)
Commander O'Shova (Still the same, just with a big damn bodyguard unit)

That's good to hear since I have the O'Shovah model and I find him rather cool, but kind of useless

He'll be more useful in the new codex. The Farsight Cadre still has the same unit restrictions (0-1 on Broadside Teams, Hammerheads, Pathfinder Teams, no Kroot, ect), but Ork Fighters will likely be a viable option for Fire Warrior teams. Plus, you can field-albiet, for 700-odd points-an 8-man Crisis Suit unit led by O'Shova that has a pretty good CC ability, AND it's awesome firepower-hell, you could probably shoot the hell out of a tooled-up Termie unit, THEN charge it and bring it down (Since, AFAIK, Crisis Suits CAN fire Rapid Fire weapons and charge.)

Depends, Dan. I'm gonna pick up an Aun'shi before Empires hits the shelves just because I think he's a cool model (MUCH better than Regre- er Aun'va). Even if I can only use him as a regular Ethereal.

yes ive heard the rumors of the 7 man bodyguard. but thats all it is. rumor. O'Shovah has been removed from the tau codex according to the GW employee i speak with. He may later be added in a chapter approved. i get my info from a GW employee tho im not sure how to prove that. were do you get your official info from?

Show me were you got it from seeing as im a personal fan of O'Shovah and was greatly upset at the news. His Fluff is great and i love the mercenary/ almost space pirate like feel to him.
