Hey there, the problem with your post is what do you want your commander to be? tank hunter (fusion blaster), marine killer (plasma gun), do you want cc? (flamer and burst cannon) the model that you seem to like is a commander with a fusion blaster and a burst cannon which IMO isnt a very good combo, you would have 2 be in 18" of an enemy just to shoot.
If you are goin with forge world then i would suggest the XV 81 it has a plasma gun with AP2 for those pesky terminators, and a burst cannon for the lighter units in an army (gaunts, IG and orks)
I agree. I also think that those models are a lil expensive for being good for one thing(set weapons). Their are plent of ways to get creative. I get the small gundam models and use heads from them.

First of all, all those Forge World models(81, 84, 89) come with differant weapons, just like the GW plastic ones.
Secondly, what makes them differant is what is hard-wired or built into their suits.
Thirdly, none of the three are worth it. I wanted to buy them, I REALLY did. But after I got the Battle for Taros Campaign book and saw the rules for them....well, they're just not worth it.
Fourthly(is that I word?), wait until the Tau Empire update. Commanders will getting their own "upgrade" sprue one of which lets you basically build an XV-89.
Record as of 26 December for my Static Tau Cadre.
10 wins, 0 losses, and 1 draw.
Last game: Victory over Necron in a 600 point "kill em all" that lasted til turn 10 ending with a phase out.
