I was wondering (before I put myself through this) wether it's worth while to put magnets on your crisis suits for weapons...
I was originaly planning on just using fireknife configurations, but am now planning on including other formats in my growing force. I was wondering if anyone can tell me weather its worth the extra (and i mean EXTRA) work when it comes to putting magnets on your suits.
Do no one else's 'Suits have the little notches where the weapon fits in and holds perfeclty fine without magnets or glue or anything? I don't get why you need magnets XD

I think the magnets are a plus. they stay on and you cannot tell that there are even there. (is drilling 2 extra holes alot of work?)
i need to find something interesting to put here
Ok Scotty, jokes over... NOW BEAM UP MY CLOTHES!
I'd say that it's REALLY worth doing! Shure, the weapons have small bu slightly functional "notches" but after some use of them they loos their grip and start fall off... Really anoying. However, that only happens after a year or so.
Magnets Isnt really that much effort in it to get them to work. I drill three holes in my suits, (One in each arm and one in a shoulder mount. AND they work great. Just get your Magnets from the net, they can sometimes cost a little but it IS worth it, trust me!
Remember remember the fifth of November... Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason... Should ever be forgot...- = Always watching = -
Use magnets, use magnets, use magnets.
It's hella easy to put them on. I have 4 magnets on each suit(6 total) and it didn't take that long. I've got a magnets on my Hammerheads too and that didn't take that long.
Record as of 26 December for my Static Tau Cadre.
10 wins, 0 losses, and 1 draw.
Last game: Victory over Necron in a 600 point "kill em all" that lasted til turn 10 ending with a phase out.
I use magnets too and I recommend that you try them because they make your xv8 suits and tanks more versitile meaning you have to spend less if you wanted to change the suit configuration plus the megnets aren't that expensive.
I wouldnt use them personally. The weapons on my suit fit in perfectly without glue or magnets. I think its a waste of time.

I'm all about magnets. You can easily reconfigure your weapons for strategic or asthetic purposes any time you feel like it, on crisis suits and on tanks. You can also make your hammerheads convertable into devilfish and vice versa. I also use magnets to mount bits representing various vehicle upgrades, so I can tell at a glance what upgrades I cut to save points during a game.
It is not diffictult to put in magnets - especially if you put them in at the time that you are first assembling the model. On my crisis suits I not only set magnets into the notches I also green-stuffed over the top, filling in the remaining part of the slot and giving the each whole sholder or arm a smooth finish. IMHO it looks great and was well worth the effort.
Since I've been using magnets like a fiend, a couple of my modeling-mad friends have also started using them in their armies. First prize totally goes to my friend Bo, who has magnetically mounted the torsos of the gunners in his marine speeders, so he can swap out a bloody corpsified gunner to represent a weapon-destroyed result. It is very cool. One of these days when I finish all my other projects and have some free time I'll make myself some magnetically mounted destroyed Ion cannon and Rail Guns to swap out for my HHs.
P.S. K&J Magnetics is my favorite source for magnets on the web. I've ordered from them 4 times and they always ship really fast.
I dont see the point in magnets as all my weapons stay in fine without glue or anything.
