the codex will be out in about a year, following the eldar.
some say the army will be the first of its kind. Now...i have heard this is the way its gonna go, ex: on the first turn your guys are in the deplotment zone...chillin...orkin'. turn two, three, four, the orks get more and more powerful. trucks are harder to blow up, boyz are harder to kill, there is an energy that drives the army forward; the WAAAAAAAAGH protects the army. the only chance the enemy has is to destroy the army early on in the game.
rumor has it that...
-there will be a "mek" boss
-the new models are uge' and badass
-ork burnas can shoot in close combat
-clans may be encorporated into the army...
more to come.
Where are your rumors coming from, especially since eldar is not scheduled to be released for a year. In addition the Waagh thing sounds interesting. Comments on the rest...it would be nice though.
We have a Big Mek HQ unit entry already
Clans have their own official rules which were released in white dwarf
New models would be nice, for a few things
Burnas firing into CC? Probably won't be allowed as that would violate the template rule severely.
40K-Beakies(9-14-4),Guard(4-7-2),Orks(34-12-11). FANTASY-Dwarves(15-6-7),Beasts (14-14-1), Skaven (17-17-10) DoC (6-1-2). CYGNAR (28-15-1)
Yeah I'd also like to know where you heard this. And you better not say "I can't tell you..."
That waaagh thing does sound cool. An interesting approach. I want new ork rules but at the same time I sort of don't. The collection of FAQ's and clan rules gthe orks have built up over the years gives you an enormous amount of freedom that may be lost in a new codex. Also I've spent ALOT of money (and time) on my mainly footlsogging army and if I had to go and buy new models my girlfriend would kill me.
Orks have been confiremd to be done in 2007 while the eldar get released this year.
Sofsr there isn't much work done on the orks as the playtesters are buasy with the eldar and dark angel rules, certainly not the orks.
I think the real culprits here are the bloody 'umies. Can they really say they need another chapter codex, when the only difference is a few special characters and a rule or two?
I'm not tossing my faith behind this one just yet, although the WAAAGH aspect of it does sound interesting. Although, my orks rarely have a problem once they get up close to the enemy, its the long and slow foot march UP to them that gives me fits. How will protecting my dwindling numbers help me?
Still, it does fit in with the WAA-Ork thing. Intruiging. Still want a toughness 5 boss though.
"Some days you're the Mekboy building the kannon, the rest you're the grot being blown up by it."
- Quote attributed to Sorkrates, before his much mourned death due to ingestion of Hemsquig Juice.
"Dis iz my choppa, and herez me gun. Dat's for killin' and so'z dis one!"
- Bloodaxe Kommando Warchant
Like everyone else says, where'd you get this info from?
That WAAGH thing sound interesting, but I dont think it could be very true. It would make Orks invincable in the latter turns, and I dont think GW wants to make an army that one sided...
By day he fought with sword and shield.....
By night he fought with pen and parchment.....
He was....The Warrior Poet.......
Fear the ANZAC Clan!!!!!
ORDER OF THE SHADOWY FLAME!!!
Do you have uber micro...????
i got my info from a friend who has a knack for finding pre-release info about anything he is interested in. but honestly i don't know where that is...i will find out though (he may have gone off to collage) i can tell you though that what he finds out is usually legit.
I wouldn't be suprised that this waaaagh thing isn't that powerful, maybe a 6+ invulnerable save from turn 4 onwards? maybe the ability to ignore one failed armoue save per turn?
If this is true information your friend must be as sneaky as sam fisher. I also agree the orks are waaay overdue (more so than any other).
