Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'm having a rough time deciding what to stick in my Elites category for my army. I want either Lictors or Warriors, and I can't decided which. Maybe you guys can give me some input on what might be more useful. Either:
A) 3 Lictors @ 240 pts
6 Warriors with Enhanced Senses, Extended Carapace, Leaping, Toxin Sacs and Deathspitters @ 240 pts
Lemme know what you think.
Lictors, their hidden deployment rule (I think thats what its called) is awesome, peekaboo, I kill you!
They are great for ambushing lone heavy weapon squads and the like.
I'd go with the Lictors, as your unit of warriors isnt legal... warriors have to have 2 weapon symbiotes.
I'd suggest giving them rending claws and dropping the leaping, also I'd stick a venomcannon in the squad.
Overall though, I'd go with 4 warriors (like I've described above) for 162 pts and a single lictor.
Haha, I didn't read their Secret Deployment rule end to end!
They assault first turn out! Ridiculous! I'll keep the Lictors.
One more question. Is it better to deep strike all three together, or would you deep strike one at a time into various parts? I guess it would depend on the situation, and what the opponent would be doing with his army as well. But I'm not sure though? Which one have you guys had more success with?
It depends one hundred percent on what you are fighting, Against Tau and Guard I don't mind sending 1 lictor against the whole squad, against space marines even devastator squads 1 lictor is not going to make their points back, however two will not only make thier points back but achieve their intended purpose (block lines of sight, and engage big shooters) which is typically more valueable than points. Putting two together also leaves you that third one to drop near your front line gaunts who hit on threes because of the lictors feeder tendrils. 3 lictors is costly, but in the right circumstances (a tactically played game that uses cover) they are worth every point.

Of course, rolling affected that, but they are so expensive compared to Warriors equipped with RC/ST. Besides that you can get a similar effect with Raveners (deep striking) with RC's. Plus they can eat up infantry too. And their cheaper.
Good luck with them though, they are cool!
Lower/Lesser rating always ships first!
I think Lictors are great for that unexpected situation that Nids sometimes find themselves in. "Hmmm, 30 heavy bolters... they are AP4 right?...!" Their deployment is their main str, in some games it is a matter of picking the tastiest target. People playing against lictors also fear cover, which is handy.
But rending warriors are great, there is no way around it.
It's official! The all Tabasco sauce diet is still the number one weight loss diet for the 4th consecutive year!
They serve completely different purposes so take them both! One Lictor is enough to keep your enemy out of terrain. If they are afraid then the Lictor has already earned its points.
I do not criticize. I do not offend. All I offer is my opinion which means only as much as you make it.
