So at my gaming club we are about to start an escalation campaign. 500pts then advance up to 2000pts.
In this campaign you must incorporate the list from the lower level. (I.E. 1000pts list must include the 500pt level. 1500pt list must include the 1000pts level and so forth)
My question is should i hold out on a second lord in favor of a c'tan @ the 2000 pts lvl or go ahead and invest in the second lord at the lower levels.

At 2000 points always include a c'tan over a lord IMO as they are sickenly powerful and few things can counter them. Also at 2000 points you should have enough necrons to prevent phase out even with a c'tan (and a monolith as well).
What's the rest of your list, and what models do you have available?
Remeber that if you are taking more than 40 warriors (which you really should be at 2000 pts IMO), you can split FOCs and take a C'tan and 3 Lords! (if you really want...).

Well at the 2000pts level this is the list i have in mind
4 Heavy Destoryers
1996 Pts PO 13
Im not a big fan of big blocks of warriors (this maybe why i find myself phased out more oft than not)
Models I have available
1 Destroyer Lord
4 Heavy Ds
