Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey I just today picked up the Tyranids codex, and had some fun reading intensely on it.
So I was thinking on how I should start a Tyranid force of my own...
I already picked up a broodlord, as my friends told me they are really nasty.
I also have the nids in the BFM box set.

defenatly get some carnifexs as IMO they are awsome. You probly will need more synapse. Cosider Zoanthropes.
I'm a fairly experienced player, I suggest you get some Zoanthropes as well. Most imporntantly I would stay away from the fast attack choices, neglect these totally. Many players will disagree with me here, but I find them to be too expensive in points and money for what they manage in battle.
Sounds like you got a nice army already, though do you know what armies you'll be playing against?

Personally i love warriors, predominatley the cc type. They;re great for synapse and pack a punch. I wouldn't go for zoans. I've maxed out my heavy with 3 fex's, one cc and two shooty. In regards to fast attack a couple of raveners in separate squads is good. I use them as "sergeants" for my hormie squads. They move the same as them so can keep up. It also forces your opponent to choose between the squad of hormies or ravener to shoot at. Stealers are also fun when they get into combat. Sooo many dead MEQ's :~D
ANyway, hope it's helped. Welcome to the horde and happy hunting
a battle force comes with a fex
yeah so I was thinking eventually a third battleforce would finish up my fex rampage and also allows me to field a gaunt mass, or genestealer army, or even warriors.
Then all i'd need to pick up is more specialized things such as zoanthropes, ravenors, or such after...
Im liking mass fast close combat nid army so probably going gaunt heavy with some big bugs.. and maybe ravenors sounds even greater =)
well with 3 fexes you can't have a zoanthrope
You can if you've got more than 1500 points of 'nids, and with three battle-forces, that seems fairly likely.Originally Posted by Hive Fleet Cobra
