Welcome to Librarium Online!
im going to be fighting necrons useing an eldar army and ive never played with eldar before anyone with tips on either beating necrons or playing eldar are welcome
All ive got is 3 farseers 3 warlocks, 3 jetbikes, a viper, a falcon, wraithlord, 20 guardians and some wraithguard
You will need Starcannons. Starcannons, starcannons and more starcannons. And if your friend who plays Necrons is a beginner then he will probably bring a Monolith, got no good tactics on taking it down though (ignore it always work).
Banshees is great as well. Lots of attacks and power weapons slaughter necrons in CC. Stick 'em in a Serpent and you got a nice assault unit. Vypers with Starcannons always work.
The Wraithlord can be usefull to draw fire away from your other troops. From what I can see you look to have enough troops to do a Ulthwé army (Black Guardians!). Jetbikes are cool but a waste of points. The Falcon should have a Starcannon, holo-field and Spirit stone upgrades.
If you could give us his list then I could give you more ideas and suggestions, but for now I'll just give you a few general tips.
-Go for phase out. This is the Necrons biggest weakness. If he has a Monolith or Night Bringer, do your best to ignore and aviod it. They are slow, and sense you play Eldar y ou should be able to avoid it rather easily. Don't waste your firepower on a Monolith or Nightbringer when you can be shooting at his warriors getting closer to phasing him out.
-If you can, get a hold of the Necron codex. Read through some of the special rules like phase out, and try to get to know his army better.
-Use your Wraithlord to soak up fire. Necrons lack low AP weaponry, so he should be able to stay alive for a good amount of time.
-Use Starcannon's and other things that ignore WWB or their saves. It will help a lot!
-Try to stick heavy weapon platforms in your Guardian squads. I'd suggest Starcannons.
I've found wraithlords to be perfect against my necron friend. They can help outnumbering to actually make them fail some morale (sweeping advancing toasters is plain nasty). Also they add another starcannon in the list AND instant kill that damn res orb lord.
Falcons full of fire dragons might not be so bad though. Never tried it myself. Vypers might also work as Necrons can't really bring light tanks well. But yea unless you can somehow hit a monolith with haywire grenades or wraithcannons just don't bother with it.
In your current list though just mind war his lord to pieces and starcannon the hell out of him (or her).

Check out my Codex: Farmyard Animals here!
If anyone wants any kind of help writing fluff for any kind of GW army just ask.
My necron opponent doesn't use a monolith, why is it so much tougher then let's say a landraider (my other friend likes fielding three )
I heard melta doesn't work but yeah just shoot at it a bit with thosewraithguard and everything goes down...right?
The Morbidos Fleet will reclaim the Eldar empire. This time there shall be no mercy. Let them choke in their own blood!
This is because of its 'Living Metal' special rule. For further information, check the Necron codex under the Monolith entry and you should see it.My necron opponent doesn't use a monolith, why is it so much tougher then let's say a landraider (my other friend likes fielding three )
However, Eldar have some tricks on taking it down like Wraithcannon's and Haywire grenades.
As a Necron player I have great difficulties with the Eldar Sniper army (not sure what craftworld, Altioc maybe?) w/ 3 wraith lords.
Yes, that is the Eldar Alaitoc army you are thinking of.As a Necron player I have great difficulties with the Eldar Sniper army (not sure what craftworld, Altioc maybe?) w/ 3 wraith lords.
Move around alot and try staying away 24" of his warriors and immortals (if any). Be aware of scarabs ..... they're a pain in the ... if they get in cc since it takes alot of time to kill them. Sure they won't do much vs a wraithlord maybe but they will lock him in close combat for the rest of the game.
But foremost, MOVE IT .... He's slow compared to you and you must take advantage of this so that your 36" weapons will reach him but his 24" won't.
if u take a wraithlord, although it has really high T, all necron weapons can wound it..
rangers are good, like people have mentioned, starcannons.. warp spiders might not be the best, but with high weapon strength, it should do ok..
know what are the units capabilites before charging.. you dont want the necron player to teleport his metal buddies out of h2h, and then gets to shoot whatever units that charged.. wraiths are a pain.. they move quick, and have a high strength weapon.. they can go hunt down fire bases quickly..
