Ok First of all i want to assume the following list and also the fact im new to 40k and necrons.
1 Lord res orb and Vod
I have been thinking of drooping a squad of warriors and replacing them with flayed ones as they cost the same. Depending on the senario and opponent i was thinking of using the flayed ones to infiltrate and harrass a flank with the scarabs or sit behind my warriors to counter charge.
What im really looking for is an explanation to why most people take the extra 10 warriors over the flayed ones?
I myself love large-warrior lists. I regularly play legions at 1000 pts.
More shots is just more useful. A legion of warriors will be able to take out almost its points in advancing Orks (I found this out after repeated experimentation).
However, flayed ones do have their merits, especially if you can use the scarabs to prevent them getting tied up with the wrong people.
Buy warriors, because if you want to get larger armies you're always going to need more warriors, Then you can proxy the flayed ones in a couple of games, before you buy them.
Excellent list, btw.

It's probably also how and what you want to play, cuz around here there are few players who's choose 10 more warriors of flayed one if they didn't already have a flayed one unit. and if you get assaulted a lot by your 'regular' opponent, it might be usefull to have flayed ones hanging around, I've had big squad smashed to peices before even killing more the one flayed one in turn one as they also are allowed to infiltrate, they could be used as presurem, but it's all depending one what you WANT to do stay die hard shooty or get a bit if cc in it as well.
'Thou shalt not refer to the Adeptus Soritas as "Bolter Bitches" nor shalt thou go anywhere near our sisters during the time of the "Red Rage," lest thou wishes to be the first human to enter orbit without the aid of a shuttle.'
I use flayed ones in games where close combat will be inevitable and unavoidable. Against Tyranids for example...
