only 38 necrons in that army... not good... PO at 9.5 necrons...

also, 6 immortals isnt worth it in this point level. if i were you, i'd do the following:

drop the heavy destroyers (gauss weaponry work just fine)

    drop the immortals

that leaves you with something like... 363 points to spend...

i would take those points, and just buy yourself 14 more warriors, and 2 more destroyers.

destroyers are an amazing mobile firebase, and you always need more necrons.

if you really want to VOD into the enemy that badly, you can just grab one of your warrior squads if they get low on numbers, and take them into a suicide mission behind a vehicle lol. that works, especially if theyre in CC and theres only something like 4 of them left.

OR just use the VOD to take them out of CC into rapid fire range of said enemy in CC.

thats what i would do. I dont include immortals until 2000

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this belongs in the army list section

Grand Master Halls's advice is solid.

I dont use the Monolith in my 1500pt list and its doing well so far.

    Necron Lord
    Res orb, vod

    Warriors x11
    Warriors x10
    Warriors x10
    Warriors x10

    Destroyers x4
    Destroyers x4
    Scarabs x 10 (disruption fields)

I do one of two things, i aim my destroyers and scarabs to take out the enemy tanks and then work on the rest of the army with my warriors slowly marching up (or holding). With this tactic i just use the lord with my warriors so the res orb covers the most amount of troops and if my opposition leaves a unit all by itself somewhere on the board i take a unit of warriors and jump in with the VoD and blast it rapid fire.

or i just play refused flank and run all my fast attack down one flank and hold the centre with 30 warriors. The lord grabs a unit of warriors and jumps in to help with destroying the flank with the Scarabs and Destroyers

alternatively at this point level you can play wraith wing ...
    destroyer lord w/res and warsyche
    2x 3 wraiths
    4x 10 warriors
    5 destroyers
    tomb spyder

lord and wraiths boost to cover on one flank
turn two they hit the lines and attempt to
    consolidate into another unit

    destroyers provide covering fire for
fast attack wraith wing or pick out juicy target

warriors and spyder march up other flank
and do what warriors do ... dakkadakka

at 1500 points it generally does well.

    he he he

I don’t know if many people in a necron thread would want to help you destroy a monolith...

Depending on how many necron's your opposition is fielding it may be worth forgetting about it entirely and go for the phase out by killing his necrons.

I’m not familiar with witch hunters but I would attack it just like I would a land raider (same armour value) its just that I would not waste points on tank hunter (will not work).

Lascanons work best. and if it’s immobilized powerfists.

At 1500 points I find this well balanced. I'm not convinced the Monolith is a good investment. Mine gets popped 90% of the time. Three Heavy destroyers are a better investment in my opinion. 36 Warriors will hold up fine if you are worried about phaseout. After all we are Space Marines that get back up. He! He! Don't spread you force too thin. Focus on a flank and sweep. The Destroyers,Warriors and Necron Lord are the key no matter how many points the battle is. To find your balance spend as many points on Warriors as you do Heavy Destroyers / Destroyers combined. Seems like a odd way of thinking about point systems but it works.

    HQ
    Necron Lord 100
Resurrection Orb, Veil of Darkness 100

TROOPS Total Troops = 648 points
    Warriors X 12 216

    Warriors X 12 216

    Warriors X 12 216

FAST ATTACK Total Destroyers = 645 points
    Destroyers X 3 150

    Destroyers X 3 150

    Destroyers X 3 150

    HEAVY SUPPORT
    Heavy Destroyers X 3 195

    49 Necrons (Phase out @ 12 )
66 shots per turn not including HQ or Rapid Fire

In a 1500 point list you should have 50-60 necrons

I prefer this list: keep everything within 6" of the lord and focus all of your firepower on one target until that target dies.

1 Lord (Veil & Res. Orb)
    12 Warriors
    12 Warriors
    11 Warriors
    10 Immortals
    3 Heavy Destroyers
    3 Heavy Destroyers

    52 Necrons (Phase Out @ 13)
