I've seen people put magnets on dreadnaught arms so the can be removed. Is there a way of doing that for the weapons on warwalkers and weapons platform type things so you can switch weapons without them falling out constantly? Preferably not making the model look bad.
Dont bother Using Magnets just use A small amount or Blu-Tack
Yeah, Blu-Tack is the way to do it. If you really want magnets though I think you can get some really small ones at Radio Shack. I was planning on doing that but forund that it's too much work.
I can PM you a link to an ingenious weapons swap system if you want. It involves using small bits of square peg copper.
Well if you want to go for magnets, use what are called Rare Earth Magnets, they come in all sizes, and can even be found in very very tiny form, the only problem is you have to slide the weapon off, you pretty much can't lift one without breaking your model. They last a few years before their magnetic field goes dead, and are pretty cheap. Let me give you an example of how powerful they are, when two rare earth ring magnets with the same polarity aligned together are put in close proximity, they can hover about 2" apart when kept steady (on a wooden dowel.) And the ring magnets can weigh close to 1 Lb.
