wraiths have no shooting weapon, that does not prevent them from being a good shot. The unfortunate thing is that you probably pay points for it

Look at tyranids, if you don't give them a shooting weapon, they still have a BS, they just can't use it.

Plus it looks a lot nicer than a '0'

It's also for simplicity as all Necrons have at least BS4 as such why should the wraiths not have it, also the flayed ones have BS4 even although they have no shooting weapon. It's there to represent the ability's of the necrons even if they are not armed to take advantage of such traits.

No, no. It's for shooting evil glances at your enemy! Nothing worse than missing your target and giving the wrong unit the "evil eye".

No. I asked the same question once and the answer I liked was that they have the same "programming" as similar Necrons w/ranged weapons.

And again I ask- why didn't they TargetingXL Ver. 3.8 with the Tomb Spyders? Everybody else in the army is running that version of their shooting software. BS 4 TSs would be lethal.
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!

Due to certain "cut-backs" the Tomb Spyder Development Team was dissolved and the whole program scrapped. The issue has been revisited but was pawned off on a middle manager who was promoted to his esteemed position just before the members of the TSDT were "let go". The service request has hence remained in his in-box while other jobs have piled on top of it. Jobs like "Update Wraith Unit Quantity Support", "Make Flayed Ones Troops Already", and "Pariahs Deserve 2 Wounds."

Hmmm, I don't know about that. GW has repeatedly said that its games developers do not use formulas to calculate points costsbut playtesting to estimate the overall efficiency of a unit!

And anyone with games design experience should agree that it's a much better method, a points formula being waaay too easy to max out/abuse
