for the past few battles i've been fighting chaos and that blood thirster is horible it even takes down my cc carni
should i try using a gunfex and a fly tyrant with guns to take it down or shoud i try a stratagy with zenthropes with warp blast
I think that the best way to deal with something like a Bloodthirster is Rending. Genestealers, Raveners, Warriors. . .
Why do the survivors remain anonymous -- as if cursed -- while the dead are revered? Why do we cling to what we lose while we ignore what we still hold?
Name none of the fallen, for they stood in our place, and stand there still in each moment of our lives.
--Duiker, "Deadhouse Gates"
Bloodthirsters fall easily to broodlord with IA, genestealers or tyrants with IA qwith their initiatieve they all strike before a bloodthirster.
Or if you really want to irritate him, throw Spinegaunts at him. Just make sure to keep a Synapse creature near the brood, and watch the Bloodthirster hack away at worthless models.
Nothing says "I love you" quite like having a 205 point model tied up kiling 15 points worth of gaunts each turn.
But, ofcourse, if your aim is to kill it, then Genestealers are the way to go.
thanks for advise ill incorperate more rending in my next army
Alas, i would advise implant attack on cc tyrant. maybe some init and ws upgrades, str upgrade and bio plasma. points should be about the same and your tyrant should be able to overcome it.
Broodlord and genestealers might do the trick but imagine your tyrant fighting against a true demon; a great entity versus another. My first cc tyrant killed a bloodthirster, and fromthat moment on, i name my winged cc tyrants "hell tyrants"
A full CC tyrant has a chance against a Bloodthirster. The tyrant's initiative and the implant attack will help a lot. I would also suggest acid maw, because the toughness and strength are so close it could be important.
What is going to hurt is the greater demon's invulnerable save. Well, that and its bunch of high strength attacks that will negate your saves. Still, I have done it with a CC tyrant and it was not a total fluke.

I love using the "frustration factor" and would highly recommend Caluin's suggestion of sending it a speedbump of Gaunts to beat on. I have found that simply tying up your opponent's favorite unit unbalances their game. Even if you lose you still win a psychological victory. Somethimes that's more enjoyable.
I do not criticize. I do not offend. All I offer is my opinion which means only as much as you make it.
if I remember correctly, you can't have implant and bioplasma at the same time, they are both shown on the mouth, so it can't work.
